Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey 7/14/2008

This is a great place in the middle of LA on the coast to find a fishing trip, rent a boat by the hour, rent bicyles and skates to ride along the Coastal Bike Trail, or go on a Dinner Dining Cruise or Sunday Brunch cruise. Shanghai Red's, Sapori and El Torito Mexican Restaurants are on the waterfront and offer good food, too. Shanghai Red's is famous for weekend brunches. You can also get a boat to Catalina Island from Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey. Shopping is nothing to speak off - a few t shirt shops, and that's about it. It's a little run down, but a good place to stroll along the harborfront of the marina. You can see lots of boats sailing in and around the Marina from that point. They also have free outdoor concerts every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. If you buy something from one of the merchants, you can get your parking validated, which will reduce the $8 charge to about $2. more

It's not about the shopping - it's about the water - it's an attraction 7/1/2006

Fisherman's Village is a local attraction on the waterfront in marina del Rey. It has five restaurants and a handful of souvenir shops and quick service cafes. What to do? You can rent bikes here and take them on the 22 mile coastal South Bay Bicycle Trail; you can take a narrated harbor tour aboard a vintage yacht, rent boats and jetskis by the hour, join a Friday or Saturday night dinner dance cruise, Sunday brunch cruise, or Wednesday evening Summer Sunset Cocktail cruise; this place is fun if you look at it as a place to get out onto the water. It's all about the water not the land. Pros: Affordable kayak rentals, bike rentals, harbor tours Cons: Shopping is not here; place is run down, andd they should close the garbage cans more

So Pretty but So Empty 9/15/2003

I love the storybook seaside feel to this place, but most of the businesses are gone and the stores borded up. Its too sad. Pros: Pretty Cons: Empty, Businesses gone more
