Kyoto Japanese Steak House

Good: The food is very good, especially the Thai. I recommend the yellow curry. But my girlfriend loves the Udon noodles from the Japanese menu. Nice people. They care about what comes out of the kitchen. If Joe waits on you...and he always seems to be there...you'll have great, super quick service. He's a trained chef himself and a great guy. The beer on tap is always ice cold. Bad: Nothing. The other servers are fine, but it's a pro forma thing. Some of the dishes are much better than others, so choose the Udon or the Thai curries. Improvements: Nothing. WE LOVE IT. Other: We eat here pretty often, so I feel a need to put some of the other comments into perspective. There's no accounting for taste and to each his own, but understand two things. This is not haut cuisine...and ya gotta know what to order. Some of the items on the Japanese menu are okay, but fairly humdrum standard fare. "Fast food?" That's too harsh. And the pad thai, for instance, is so so. Slow service? Maybe 2 times out of the 50-60 times we've gone. (Clueless new hires.) It's a great place to eat. more

I love Japanese food and looked forward to eating at this restaurant with great anticipation. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a fast food restaurant, with little flavor or imagination. The menu is varied, as the name of the restaurant implies, but I do not feel inclined to try other dishes. The ambiance also needs work. Prices for entrees are reasonable, but the combination dishes are too expensive for the quality of food. more

The food at Kyoto is excellent, they have a grilled chicken salad that will knock your socks off!! Customer service leaves a little to be desired, as most restaruants do from time to time. Some times food is delivered to your table just minutes after ordering, sometimes it takes an hour. My recommendation is to go before or after the peak lunch or dinner times. more
