Best

Often frequenting the city of Atlanta, GA for business, my husband and I felt we had to include Kyma...

Overrated is the one word that comes to mind when I think of Kyma. Our party of eight was poorly treated by both the staff and the food on a not-too-busy Saturday night. First...

best seafood in town 7/20/2003

Possibly the flagship of the Buckhead Life ""empire."" Seafood prepared the way it should be...simple and fresh with no fuss (only a bit on the expensive side...wish they could weigh the fish AFTER it has been fileted!). Don't miss the octopus to start, nor the lightly fried squid. A sausage dish--whose name escapes me--was unremarkable. On the other hand, wine in mini carafs is another excellent idea. Overall, excellent experience...we'll be back. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: pricey more

lovely experience 7/8/2003

My husband and I went to Kyma to celebrate my birthday. It was fabulous! Not only was the food interesting, fresh and incredibly tasty, but the service was amazing. (Ask for Yanni.) I would strongly recommend going to Kyma for a special occasion. The atmosophere was really unique. We pan to go again this weekend! Pros: great service, tasty food, fantastic value more

Where's the Opa! 1/26/2003

Overrated is the one word that comes to mind when I think of Kyma. Our party of eight was poorly treated by both the staff and the food on a not-too-busy Saturday night. First, we waited too long past our reservation time (while there were open tables), then we waited even long once seated for drinks, we eren't offered sides with our meals, and the kitchen started bringing entres before all of our appetizers were brought out - we simply cancelled the others. On top of all that, the food (fish and meat) was underwelming at best. Don't bother. Pros: Good decor Cons: Slow service, Inattentive service, mediocre food more

Great Food, Great Atmosphere! 11/15/2002

We've been to Kyma several times and love it. The grilled fish is phenomenal, as is the grilled octopus. We've recently discovered their espresso martini's - absolutely fantastic!! Pros: Great Bar, Terrific Atmosphere, Attentive Wait Staff more

At first Overrated! Now Yummy! 10/2/2002

MY NEW REVIEW: Friends convinced me to give Kyma another try, and I am so glad I did. We started in the bar where I enjoyed a Kyma Cocktail - yummy. But the best were the lamb chops, and everyone else in my party loved their meals too. I will definitely return again. MY FIRST REVIEW: Disappointing food (and overpriced). Shrimp was rubbery and overcooked, as were the lambchops. Service was also dismal. Friends had RAVED about Kyma, so I took an out-of-town guest. It was horrible, and I'll never return. Pros: location Cons: bad food, bad service, overpriced more

Still Hot! 10/1/2002

This place is a quality establishment in Atlanta even though it is fairly new. I went there a while back and even though I was not to familiar with Greek food, the waitor was able to help me make choices that I really enjoyed. The scene was very busy, so obviously it is still a hot place to go. Typical beautiful Buckhead crowd, topped only by the Scottsdale, AZ scene. I have noticed here in ATL, most bars/clubs and restaurants come and go, but only the real quality establishments seem to stick around. Based on my meal and experience there, this place will remain a winner. Pros: Service more

so fresh ! 7/31/2002

Incredible flavours, and yet afterwards i didnt walk out feeling bloated. We shared a platter to start with and then had some beautiful fish. The wine recommended to us was fantastic. The olive oil sorbet was mind blowing. And our server helped us through all of the menu (all greek to me i'm afraid),she deserves a special mention. Pros: fish, servers Cons: confusing wine list more

I know good food when I taste it 7/18/2002

Went to Kyma for B-day with girlfriend. The food was incredibly fresh (I ordered fish while my g-friend ordered the lamb...plus apps). The wine, which is all from Greece (not known for their great wines) were moderately overpriced while the food might have been only slightly overpriced...but both were very good. I would go back there for a special occasion. Pros: Beautiful, Clean, Fresh Food Cons: Slightly overpiced, Slight wait for table more

frustrating 7/3/2002

I have never been so frustrated at a restaurant before in my life. I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and never have I had such unknowledgeable service in such a nice restaurant. The space is beautiful, which makes it a shame that the service is so poor. Let me explain, the service is attentive, but extremely unhelpful with menu selections from wine to entrees. It could be that the server I experienced is the only ""bad seed"", but I will never go back b/c of him. Also, one particular fish appetizer had so many bones you could not eat it. I cannot believe it is on the menu. Too bad - it is a beautiful restaurant . . . . Pros: beautiful, clean, comfortable Cons: unknowledgeable staff, confusing menu more

great fish 5/28/2002

for all those prudes who want their fish off the bone and with no skin, go buy some fish fingers. As a chef i appreciate people cooking fish the way its supposed to be. keep up the good work. Service was the most slick in town too. more
