Krannert is a place not to be missed and, in my opinion, one of the most underappreciated places in town. While the exterior may not show it, the interior is just beautiful. There are countless shows ranging from operas to childrens plays to ballet to jazz greats, etc. They get some really big names in there. They have a cute little gift shop with a lot of really unique items for both kids and adults. They have a great cafe too with coffee and baked goods. It's just an amazing place where everyone will find something to suit them. more

Truly a gem! 11/7/2005

Don't let the outdated exterior fool you...as soon as you get inside you'll see what a treasure Krannert is to Champaign-Urbana. They offer everything from kid friendly concerts to small plays to large scale productions to ballet. There's everything you could want here! You can always check out the Intermezzo cafe during intermission- great desserts! more

National level performance center 9/29/2005

It is U. of I's performance center. The equipment meets the national level standard but there are not many rooms for performance. The outlook of the building is ugly but the inside looks very nice. There is a coffee shop and a gift shop inside. The tickets for the students and senior citizens are much cheaper. more
