I've been coming to the Peanut Bar for the past 15 years. It has gone through its share of transformations, upturns and downturns, but on my most recent trip, I was very pleased. The waitstaff is attentive and quick with a refill. Each is professionally dressed and extremely well-mannered. It helps that the owner is present nearly every day and night. He is one of the friendliest men that I've ever met. As for the food, I have never been let down. I eat a wide variety of menu items, from salads, to sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and wings. Not once has the food been even sub-par, and I consider myself a picky eater. The atmosphere could be the best part. Who doesn't like snacking on peanuts then tossing the shells right on the floor? Walking across the hardwood, feeling past diners' shells cracking under your feet; dining here is a very unique experience. Oh, and I highly recommend the fried mozzarella globes (I can't include the word ""b a l l s"" for some reason) as an appetizer. The cheese is hot and gooey, and there's something special in the breading recipe that makes these the best I've ever had. As a side note, former New York city mayor, Rudi Giuliani recently stopped by the Reading area to campaign for John McCain. Guess where he stopped to eat. That's right, the Peanut Bar!
