Untouchable 7/27/2009

The bad news is that I do not live in Wisconsin and thus can't have Kopp's all that often. The good news is that Kopp's will ship anywhere in the U.S. (Thank goodness.)\r \r Simply put, this is about the best stuff on the planet. The frozen custard is wonderful, and the flavors of the day are almost always interesting and full of really high-quality ingredients. The burgers are great, too, although I'm still mystified why the tomatoes are extra. Never seen that anywhere else. Nonetheless, what you really are coming to Kopp's for is the frozen custard, and whether it's by way of a milkshake, a sundae or anything in between it's just the best. more

love it 6/4/2008

Ive been going to Kopp's for years and I think they just keep gettin better and better. My 4 yr old said he was really hungry. well after that he could only finish half the burger and said ""mom Im really full"" now thats good LoL my 12 yr old had a double and kept eating so as far as people saying ""I couldnt finish my burger"" it's all on urself dont blame the establishment, they are only doing their job and the burgers is what makes Kopp's so dayum good. more

Best burgers, custard 1/2/2008

I grew up in Milwaukee I have had both Solly's and Kopps burgers, and by far would recommend anyone visiting Milwaukee to try a burger from Kopps over Solly's. You will not leave hungry! I also highly recommend the fries, they have great flavor. The only con is that there is no table seating...about 5 standing tables to eat at at the Layton location. You can eat inside the Kopps in Brookfield, but they only have benches to sit on. Everyone I bring from out of town has enjoyed their Kopps burger. Another surprise is their buffalo chicken sandwich. It comes with a surpisingly spicy buffalo sauce, chopped celery, and bleu cheese all with a nice piece of grilled chicken breast. My wife loves it. Custard is great, highly recommend the tiramisu and grasshopper! Make sure you grab a lot of napkins!! Pros: huge, tasty burgers, fries, and buffalo chicken sandwich, multiple locations, good/quick service Cons: No in restaurant seating; eat in car or take home more

Delicious! 10/14/2007

Everyday their is a new flavor of custard. The sundaes are delicious and very large. The burgers are huge and custom made for you. They do not have inside seating areas but you can stand at a table or on a nice day sit down on a bench by the waterfall. more

The food is delicious, the custard is the best I have ever tasted and the portions are generous. The only negative to Kopps on Layton is a lack of inside seating. more

Not just the best burgers in Milwaukee, but on the planet. I don't even eat their frozen custard, I just endulge in the burgers. Get it with the works...you won't be disappointed. PROS: Made fresh to order CONS: no indoor dining more

Custard at it's best 10/17/2005

Kopp's is just about the best custard in the area. It's smooth, it's creamy and it's delicious! Beside's chocolate and vanilla there are daily flavors that are usually pretty tasty. If your not sure about the flavor they will give you a taste. Kopp's has a nice food menu too and like the custard everything is very good. Stop by sometime, you won't be disappointed. PROS: Very well run business. CONS: Not close enough to our home. more

The best place for frozen custard!!! 7/15/2005

The place is very big with a very private beautiful outside seating area to eat. Parking is very crowded at anytime. The food is great and huge portion. I love the ice cream there and very big portion too. Inside is all metal...makes it feel like your in a warehouse or something. The service is ok consider the food is worth the wait. more

Pass the Caramel Cashew 6/26/2005

I really enjoy going to Kopps in the summer, when my family can sit down in the "garden" area, but we tend to avoid going there in the winter--eating in the car is no fun. That was their big mistake--no tables for families inside. Parking is a pain as well, often we have to park over by the strip mall and walk over. (Not that we don't need it after eating all of that food.) Their burgers are awesome, need I say more? PROS: Good food CONS: Parking, lack of indoor seating, noise in building more

This is THE place to get custard. It also has a really nice area to sit with a little waterfall setting among the trees. I'm not a fan of the burgers, but the custard is excellent. more

The place for Butterburgers and custard!! 2/25/2005

I read the reviews and I had to try it on my visit to Milwaukee. This was my second butterburger ever and this was the best one yet. The butter makes the burger juicy with grease running out of it that was great. The time I come to this city I will be back. Pros: inexpensive, parking, food more

THE BEST FROZEN TREATS 9/4/2002

Note to visitors and tourists - you MUST go to Kopp's when in Milwaukee. This is real custard, silky smooth and full of flavor the Wisconsin way. Out-of-towners I have taken there before marvel at how good this stuff is. ""Custard"" anywhere else is just an imposter. The burgers and fries are awesome as well. And the service? The most efficient food place I have ever been in. You can see everything happening right before your eyes and it's a well oiled machine. I try to go there whenever I go back home.
