Koo Koo

Tucked around the corner from the Brookline Village Post Office on Station Street, KooKoo has fortunately increased it's size, so more than a few can sit and enjoy delicious, dare I say, vegetarian cuisine. Keep this last fact from your meat eating friends and they will enjoy it just as much (try the curried chicken salad, really tofu, but don't tell!). Try the generous & yummy mediterranean platter, but just about everything on the menu, including the off the chart coffee and teas, not to mention brownies and cookies are delicious. If you remember the funky styled coffee houses circa late 60's-70's then you will understand the comfy atmosphere of KooKoo's. If only they were open early evenings and Sundays!!!!!!!!!! One of my favorite places in Brookline and well worth a detour if you can find parking. The owners are the proprietors of the nearby yoga studio and are extremely charming. more

This wonderful little jewel is located in lovely Brookline Village. It has an eclectic decor and even provides a interesting nook of books to read if you haven' t brouught your own. Their menu is anything but run of the mill. Their Mediteranean platter and avocado and swiss sandwiches are delicious. Mouthwatering brownies and chocolate chip cookies are hard to pass up. I often zip by there just to pick up a jasmine pearl hot tea - the best I've had. Pros: Friendly staff, diverse menu, quaint and electic decor Cons: can be busy during lunch hour, stop serving dishes after 4pm - just brownies and tea, etc until 6pm more
