I hadn't been to Huron Valley since my third daughter was born there 8 years ago. Then, I encountered doctors who refused to break my water but insisted that I need pitocin and a nurse who belittled me when I told her it was time to push. My daughter was nearly born in the bathroom. I went back to Huron Valley today with knee pain and swelling. I was quickly triaged and taken to a room where the doctor arrived within minutes. He rushed out in the middle of our conversation, but came back quickly. He spent very little time actually looking at my knee, but explained in detail his knee problem and even showed me his scar. He insisted that my knee problem is the same as his and that I should have physical therapy. He then rushed out of the room a second time. 20 minutes later, I approached the desk nurse to ask if I had been forgotten. She curtly told me to wait for discharge papers. After another 20 minutes, I walked back to the desk and announced that I was leaving. I was told that I needed discharge papers. I said that I had been waiting a long time and would like to leave. Another nurse informed me that I had not been waiting a long time, ""3 hours is a long time."" I left. I will not return.
Pros: There aren't many other hospitals nearby.
Cons: Staff I encountered assumed rather than listening.
