Dr. Wein is Tops 10/6/2011

If you have Dupuytren's Contracture, please don't go anywhere other than ROC and Dr Scott Wein. I had a previous surgery by another doctor at another practice three years ago and it was a dismal failure. So needless to say but I was a little leary about going through the procedure a second time. I visited Dr Wein the first time and he told me he could make my fingers straight but it would be up to me to keep them that way. After a few weeks of thinking about it, I went back to him and we scheduled my surgery. I found out afterward that the surgery took Dr Wein over three and a half hours to not only clean up the disease but also to repair the scar tissue from the previous surgery. My fingers are as straight as arrows. While I'm bragging on Dr. Wein I must also brag on their terrific Hand Therapy staff: Rita, Jennifer, Robin and Tammy are all top-notch. They worked with me on my scheduling (I fly alot). They are compassionate and really know their business. It takes someone special to do what they do. I am one happy patient. more

simply the best 10/30/2010

As an employee of ROC, I hear the good, the bad and the ugly from the patients that are seen there. When my husband became a patient there last week, I became aware of how awesome they are from a person vantage point. After 2 days in a trauma center recovering from 7 broken bones, he was ready to be released on Monday afternoon. I called the clinic and was told to bring him in. By the time we got there the clinical staff had pulled all his records and had the paperwork ready (pain meds are wearing off at this point and we needed to get home to rest). Dr Wyker came in from home to see him!!!!! He discussed surgical options in a way that helped us make an informed decision and when we left, the surgery had been scheduled for the next day. Talk about service...\r I know I sound biased (and I am, frankly)\r In my 18 years working at Raleigh Orthopaedic, I have heard a lot of comments. Now that my family has been on the receiving end of the service, I will join the 5 star commenters of this fabulous clinic. more

HORRIBLE 10/7/2010

Horrible Horrible Horrible ! I went in for ankle / foot pain . saw a doctor , who was extremely ""odd"" .. ended up getting MRI where they sent me to another office and had to go outside to a trailer where the machine was ... long story short i have tears and bones rubbing against each other somehow .. he told me i should get cortisone shots , and would eventually needing to get a surgery but suggested i start with the shots . he wants very knowledgeable in either of the solutions . Went to get the shots , where i was told i would be getting one shot by the nurse .. then in came the doctor who gave me my first shot , then informed me i was to get another shot . he did not take the needle out , just moved it around in my foot , which was extremely painful , i literally couldn't walk when i was done . it got worse from there , the next few days i had to crawl around my apartment because my tissue has crystallized due to the injections and improper use of just moving needles around in my foot . i am currently shopping around for a new doctor because the pain has returned a few months later and i REFUSE to go back . more

Worst Orthopedic around ! 4/7/2009

This office is the worst office that I have ever been to. I will make this a short story. They gave me a foot Doctor when I needed a knee Doctor. Because he is a foot Doctor he could not do the surgery I need, instead he tried to convince me that I did not need it. I have found a new Doctor at a new practice that can do what I need, but getting my records has been the hardest thing of all. They have lost my MRI. Then when I came in to pick up the x-rays and treatment notes they were not ready. I do not live close and I was told to wait another day. Oh ya and still no MRI. Many of the phone staff members have been very rude to me as well, despite my best efforts to be fair in this whole situation. So thats he short version . Pros: None ! Cons: ALL ! more
