Kobe Japanese Steak House, Teppan & Sushi

the teppan chef was wonderful...i've never seen a show like it. the new york steak was the best i've had in awhile. i enjoyed the service as well, my server was friendly and constantly refilling my drink... i would recomend kobe steak house to everyone!! I showed up to Kobe the other night to enjoy the teppan-style food and show, and I found out that they were having a jazz performance in the lounge. My girlfriend and I decided instead to dine in the lounge. We were treated to the beautiful sounds of a cello and a piano, along with the vocal stylings of an older woman who seranaded us while we dined by candlelight. The food was excellent, the drinks were delicious, and the service was top notch to boot. By the time we were through with our meal, we didn't want to leave the great atmosphere, so we had a few more drinks and let the music permeate our satisfaction. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves jazz or even those who just want to go out for a tasty drink or two. We had a blast, and it is certain that we will be back for more of the elements that make Kobe great. Thank you so much! more

Food is so-so. We chose a booth with the standard menu. Teriyaki chicken and a tempura dish were ordered. The teriyaki chicken was anemic looking (pale) and the teriyaki sauce seemed to be right out of a bottle. The menu described it as chicken with glazed teriyaki sauce. I envisioned something appetizing looking. It tasted okay. Nowhere good enough to return to the restaurant for a second visit. The tempura was the same. Bland. The restaurant overuses ginger. Ginger on the salad, ginger on the steamed veggies, etc. Pros: Ambience, nice interior Cons: poor service, too many people standing around doing nothing, boring food..right out of a jar more
