Great Golf Course 7/9/2011

My son and I travel around and play par-3 courses on the east coast. We live in Cary, so Knight's Play is our home course, but bar none, hands down, it is the best par-3 that we've been to. We have played in Charlotte, Virginia Beach, elsewhere in the Triangle, the Triad, in Florida; nowhere compares. more

Fun Par 3 1/7/2009

I took my son here for a change of pace. The par 3 was a lot of fun and you can even play here after dark. The only drawback is if you get behind someone who doesn't know how to play -- you could be waiting a while! more

Fun Course, Take lessons elsewhere 9/16/2008

I love playing Knight's Play, I am a novice to the game and always have fun on the course. However, I took a lesson with a pro at the course and it was a complete waste of money. I asked him for some fundamentals and he gave me nothing. I have since taken lessons elsewhere and have had much better sucess. Pros: Easy Play, Fun Cons: Lessons are horrible more

Most Popular Par 3 for a reason 8/26/2008

Knight's Play is always crowded, sometimes a little TOO crowded, but for good reason - it's reasonably priced, open late, serves beer, and is alot of fun to play. The courses are decently maintained, challenging, and well-lit at night. The driving range is also fun to play, especially for beginners. I agree with the other reviewer - people need to stop bringing their kids on the course during peak hours. I was stuck behind the cast of Cheaper by the Dozen the other night and I thought my 9 hole game would never end. Also, definitely don't get a cart unless you have back/knee issues - you need to drive on the carpath the whole time, and walking from the cart to your ball and back is probably WAY more walking than if you just didn't get a cart in the first place. The food/beer is reasonably priced, and I like that they actually have Newcastle in a can, which I think strangely tastes better than the bottled kind. Pros: Great Value for the money, nice snack bar options, open late, well-lit Cons: Can get EXTREMELY crowded, cranky staff more

Par 3 par excellence 6/25/2008

Very good par 3 course and the only place for nighttime golf in the triangle. \r I've played knight's play too many times to count and can highly recommend this course as a great place for beginners or even seasoned golfers looking to work on their short game. The course boasts 27 par 3s; there are a variety of types of 3 stroke holes, long, short, large greens, small greens, over water shots, no water shots, etc. \r Also they have a huge driving range, practice putting green and even a sand area. Some of the drawbacks include that the price rivals a some of your lower end "full service" golf courses, so it may not be a destination if you want to take the whole family along and they tend to have periods where the place is swarming with people and wait times at each hole are maddening. All in all Knight's place is a great place to get in a little golf. more

Fantastic Par 3 Course 5/19/2007

There probably isn't a need to review Knight's Play because so many people around here already know about it and frequent it often. If you are considering going for the first time don't hesitate! For the money it is a great par 3 course. Here are my tips: don't go during peak hours, carry your bag or use a push cart, take unneeded clubs out of the bag to lighten the load, and if you are fairly new to golf bring a lot of golfballs because you're probably going to lose some in the water. Pros: open from 8-midnight, great prices, well tended greens, huge driving range Cons: can get very crowded, they don't space people out well more

Great Golf 11/29/2005

This is a great place to play 18 holes. I am a beginner and I didn't feel pressured to play fast. The greens are kept in great condition. They even have a driving range you can practice without playing any holes. I love going out there and relieving some stress. I try to go a couple of times a month. more

Great place for a beginner 11/26/2005

After buying my first set of clubs I decided to try out Knight's play after a friend had recommended it to me. Knight's play has a great driving range that I practiced on almost everyday over last summer. They also offer 27 par 3 holes for people of all ages to play on. The prices are also very reasonable: $4 for a small bucket of balls and 8$ for 9 holes. I highly recommend this place for anyone new to golf looking to either practice their swing, or engage in some friendly competition at their well maintained golf course. more

Very clean, food bar area, and great golf course 11/7/2005

Knights Play is a better golf center to the RGA golf center I reviewed. Kinghts Play is more laid-back and is of easier difficulty as all the holes are par 3 holes. Its also alot cheaper as its $10 per 9 holes. There is the convenience of the food bar when one gets hungry. There is also a driving range that serves more than 30. There are golf lessons provided for those that wish to expand their golfing skills. Kinghts Play is overall a great golf center with a beatifully drawn out course. PROS: Convenience of food, driving range, and 27 holes of golf. CONS: more

Nice Course, Good Customer Service 11/2/2005

Knights Play Golf Course is located in a quiet area of North Carolina in Apex. It has a driving range and 27 holes; front 9, middle 9, and back 9. Many spots on driving range to accompany at least 40 people. Customer service is great and will refund money if it starts to rain or if you do not receive your bucket of balls from the machine. I recommend this place for amateurs, intermediate, and even professional players. PROS: Nice location, good customer service. CONS: more

Fun and economical place to play golf! 8/8/2005

This place rocks! Unless you live in Apex, it seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but the whole complex is expansive and roomy. The driving range is really big and draws lots of people on the weekends. They also have a nice little eating area and benches for those who want to watch and chat. PROS: Nice layout, low prices, open late CONS: more

Open 'til midnight, this golf center also offers lessons. You can hit off the grass or mats on the huge driving range. And the practice green is great for chipping or putting....
