Awesome! 1/6/2005

My friend celebrated his birthday there tonight, and a few other buddies tagged along with us. Great food, very fresh and deliciously tasty (especially the spider rolls and the spicy tuna rolls, my favorites), and an awesome atmosphere with good crowd and service. Definitely one of LA's better sushi spots. more

Excellent quality and freshness! 12/25/2002

One of my favorites that rarely has an off night. The fish is always very fresh and the sushi chefs are friendly and helpful. The Unagi is particularly wonderful and always has the perfect texture and sauce. The yellowtail and spicy tuna rolls.. perfect. more

This is where I go for sushi when I have guests or to meet business associates - I reserve My favotie Nozowa for my self... Always great sushi with a good slection and a fair price - service is good also. The valet has yet to not recognise me and have my car ready seemingly before I am out the door. Still a scene 5/14/2002

Every time I eat here, I see someone famous. OK, so maybe I'm stretching the definition of celebrity (Joey Lawrence and his two brothers, for example), but, hey, if you want a sure-bet star sighting, Teru Sushi is the spot. The food ain't bad, either. Pros: lively Cons: need reservations more

Editorial
  • In Short
Upon arrival at this Katsuya-helmed restaurant, you won't be fighting a gaggle of trendsters for a table, nor will you see a space that looks like every square inch has been combed over by a Hollywood designer. With only about 14 tables and a small sushi bar, this humble but upscale restaurant focuses on just one thing--its food, especially the unbelievably fresh sushi.  The cold and hot seafood dishes, such as sunomono, halibut wrapped with uni sashimi, rockfish yuan-yaki and sea bass baked on cedar board, are the house specialties. And for the aficionado, the restaurant offers omakase at $70. Just remember to make your reservations fast, as it may be a rare opportunity to be served by Chef Uechi himeself. Because who knows how long this enterprising restaurateur will be manning the sushi bar here?
