Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital

I had tried their services a couple of times. I was not very impressed, but I figured I would try them one more time. I should have been suspicious when one of their doctors had last minute, first and last appointments of the day open. Let me say, their staff are very friendly and very helpful, 5 stars for them. I was not impressed by Dr. Lord. He is abrupt and rude. He treats owners as if they have no intelligence and no input in the handling and treatment of their pet. As a clarification, he did ask me what tests I wanted to run and they did tell me the costs (very expensive), before running the tests. But, his overall attitude was very condescending. I have spoken with several other people who have used their services and they were not happy, either. I will not be bringing my pets back to Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital. more

I have taken 2 dogs here, had same vet, Klein, He seemed knowlgeable, not caring other than was he going to get paid. I took a dog in with injury. Afriend signed it in. This vet did not clarify who the owner was. The other person showed up early next morning ,paid bill and gave permission to put dog down.I had no knowledge of this till too late. I had found this dog another home where it was possible to get surgery I couldn't pay for. The other person that said they owned the dog told me they signed him over to vet in order to find a shelter that could help him.Which was false,they said to put him down. I went by every day to see him. Latter found they were not giving him pain meds. In mean time I found home. Long story short that sweet pup was put down without giving him another chance and cutting me out of discissions .He ,Klein, was afraid if question of ownership was raised he wouldn't get paid. As a concerned pet owner, I was treated with great service and all of my questions were answered and explained clearly. I've been in a room with multiple Dr.'s and each of them was generous and informative. My little Poodle got the attention he needed and for the high quality care I was willing to pay. The boarding facility is amazing!! The girls working there were very sweet and always took my calls when I was checking up on little Tiger. Thanks Kitty Hawk! more

When I moved to the area, I took my 2 labs to this clinic because it was close to where I live. The facility is very nice, but the staff and vets are not. I've always had really great vets in the past who cared about my dogs & took the time to get to know both them & me. Don't expect that from the vets & staff here. The doctors seem to be very educated & know what they're doing, but they don't seem to be passionate about animals or enjoy their work at all. Also, every time I call the office to ask a question or make an appointment, the staff are very rude on the phone. more

I have always had a great experience when taking my dog to Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital. The office is always immaculately clean and has the latest technology for caring for my dog. The only reason I rated them four stars instead of five for will recommend is that I recently boarded my dog there and while their facilities were adequate, I could not pick up my dog on a Saturday so he had to stay the whole weekend which I was charged for. Otherwise, their employees really care about animals and are always friendly and greet me and my dog with a smile and with care. more
