This is the second kitchen that Lisa has designed for me. I picked the gorgeous shabby chic in the front window, and I couldn’t be happier. Lisa designed my kitchen in our new home from beginning to end. It’s a large kitchen with cabinets, a fireplace, a Viking stove, hardwood floors, granite, and a lot of workspace. She designed everything, right down to the tile. Her customer service was excellent – very professional. She does beautiful, high-end work.\r more

Exceeded our expectations!!! Lisa and her dedicated staff of design professionals at Kitchens on Montana (KOM) were a delight to work with from the first moment my wife and I stepped into her lovely showroom on Montana Avenue, in Santa Monica, CA. My wife shared some magazine photos of kitchens she liked, Lisa visited our home to get a sense of our space and kitchen life-style, and Lisa and her team prepared 2-3 wonderful and creative initial design concepts for our review. Wow! Lisa and her team are certainly ""kitchen design professionals"", with their clear understanding of building construction and which designs will be easy to implement in the existing space and which designs will require some level of construction renovation. With absolutely no pressure from Lisa or her staff to select any one of the initial design concepts, we carefully weighed the design, function, and total projected costs of all her initial designs with Lisa's insights, before selecting a final design concept that we had Lisa and her team completely layout and cost. My wife and I selected a design that fit within our existing space and did not require moving any walls. We also selected a ""mid-price"" range of cabinets from the very wide-range of cabinet manufactures KOM represents. (my wife and I are both working parents, and we did not have an ""unlimited"" kitchen remodeling budget) Lisa arranged for two (2) different kitchen construction specialists to visit our home and provide firm quotations to build the kitchen of Lisa's design, and we arranged for one (1) contractor to bid as well. Both of Lisa's contractor's submitted lower and much more detailed bids then the contractor we invited to bid. We selected one of Lisa's contractors Ariel Construction, who completed the project on-time and on-budget. (we certainly had no design or construction snafus on our project) In addition to Lisa's great depth of design experience and expertise, my wife and I feel Lisa's true and unique talent is understanding and working with colors as would a renowned artist. Lisa worked tirelessly with my wife and the cabinet manufacture to prepare the perfect color/glaze/finish on our cabinets that highlight/complement the other design elements in our kitchen (countertops, floors, walls, appliances) delivering a truly phenomenal forward kitchen design with a spirit and soul my wife and I both love! The quality of work was superior; much better than any other contractor because you have a shafran construction. The materials used were of high quality. The workmen were polite,knowledgeable and always explained in detail when you have any questions. Every aspect of this project was a pleasure and the finished results are fantastic. Shafran construction scheduled many project with kithchen remodeling. more

We had a very negative and horrible experience with KOM. BUYER BEWARE. An unethical, poorly organized business with zero attention to detail. The order was wrong, her husband was a total bully who demanded payment before the job was completed, which my husband vehemently opposed. Once they were paid, it was bye-bye, don't call us. We have filed a complaint and will sue for monies lost and not approved by us. For the prices, the service was not there. Go elsewhere. Find a business that cares, that would actually visit the jobsite (we had to BEG), and involve you in final decisions and have some communication.REAL BAD DEAL. UPDATE: Total error in measurements as the cabinets went in..no reply from them when contacted. What a nightmare...for some REAL LIFE reviews, please visit sister site Yelp to see how this business is really run...in reading some of these fantasy reviews here, I am wondering what a 'healthy' cabinet is, perhaps one that doesn't visit the cabinet doctor much? UPDATE:WOW..more wrong measurements..the ""custom"" cabinets were measured wrong, making more construction work, and Lisa had the specs of all the kitchen appliances beforehand...VERY POOR ATTENTION TO DETAIL,but thank goodness she had the job entirely paid for before the construction was actually completed!!!...I think I could have done a better job! Who knows when this nightmare will be correctly finished...my guess is in court. more
