So, I've been to Kirin twice. Both times the food was out of this world and the tea selection was delicious. However, I have to state my concerns about the service. My first time was great--a little fast and not overy attentive, but the service was just fine. However, on my most recent excursion, I was with a group of 8, and we were seated at 7:30pm (the place closes at 9). The entire meal, our waiter was rude, unattentive, and just wanted us to leave. First, we ordered appetizers, and abput 60 seconds later the waiter was back to take our order--okay, fine. But we told him we needed some time and we were in no rush, but he stood there tapping his pen against his pad, and refused to leave. We even asked him to go away, and he just took one step back. Keep in mind there were 10-15 other full tables--we were not the only people there. Our water glasses were not filled, and we were ignored all meal. Towards the end of our meal, as the place was starting to clear out, my friend who speaks Chinese told us that the staff was discussing how to get us out of there a half hour before they closed. They turned off the AC and most of the lights, started organizing their reciepts/tips, and began putting chairs onto tables and mopping the floor. At this point, the restaurant was supposed to be open for another 30 minutes! Then they REFUSED to our dessert order, and just brought us the check, and then the waiter stood there while we pooled our cash. Again, we asked him to leave, and he took two steps back and stared at us, speaking to a bus boy in Chinese (my friend translated some not-so-nice comments) as we calculated the waiter's deserved 2% tip. Again, we were not the last people in the restaurant, but we had perhaps the worst service I've had outside of a Taco Bell. So, take it for what it's worth.
Pros: Great food, great tea
Cons: A little pricey for chinese food, service can be atrocious
