Their hot and sour soup was still steaming hot when delivered, and the vegetarian kung pao "chicken" is some of the best fake chicken I've ever had. My girlfriend loved the garlic...

Good 5/8/2009

The first time I went to King Dong was during lunch hours on a school day. I was worried that the service would take a long time and that I wasn't going to make it to class on time, but the food got to my table pretty fast. I got the Kung Pao 3 Combo which was super good, and there was a whole lot of it! With your lunch special you get a serving of rice, a side salad, and a side sweet and sour soup. I promise you will not leave King Dong hungry! The dinner is a little more expensive because you pay full price for the entre you choose, and you have to buy the sides separately. The service is friendly and they have a large fish thank in the middle of the restaurant, so you have something nice to look at while you wait for your food. It's a great place to go to with friends, with that special someone, or even alone; either way you won't regret going. more

Great Lunch Specials 12/30/2008

I love going to King Dong's to get their lunch specials. They're tasty, cheap, and huge. The service is very friendly and welcoming. Nice place to enjoy a satisfying meal with friends! more

hot food, hot waitstaff, funny name 4/22/2007

what else could you ask for.king dong is a great little hole in the wall restaurant. i was there over the 4/20 weekend and i had kung pao chicken which i usually get, it did not disappoint me in the heat or the taste category. i was lucky to be served by not only a very friendly waitress but she was also very attractive as well. short hair biggest butt in the place keep your eyes out for her. this first time got me hooked i will drive from Santa Barbara to go there again. more

Decent fare Chinese Food 6/22/2006

The food is alright, and their lunch specials are ok. I can't say I really enjoyed it, but it was ok food. I personally would rather drive 15 minutes to downtown Oakland for cheap great Chinese food and support the local Chinatown community there. FYI My friend yacked after eating their food, but hes not the most cultured White boy, so I wouldn't let his experience shun you away. more

Offering tasty Chinese food at a great price on Shattuck Avenue in beautiful downtown Berkeley, this restaurant is great for take out or for a quick dine-in lunch or dinner. The friendly staff is eager to please and the food is worth every penny....and of course, you've got to love the name! more
