Best thing this side of dim sum! For two folks who've eaten a LOT of Chinese in New York, Chicago, & San Francisco, we BOTH feel KC rates right up there with the middle of the pack (not saying the best, mind you) of those cities' Chinatowns, and THAT, folks is saying something!. Jack & Erica are the consummate hosts; the place is stylish, cozy & clean; the food is consistent, fresh & terrific. Great off-menu items: Singapore Noodles (curry!), Princess Shrimp & sublime Egg Foo Yung (especially the pork version). Their Egg-Drop Soup has no peer, but Yen Cheng still beats them on the Hot n Sour (that's the ONLY dish they do). Best menu dishes: Sizzling Beef, Moo-Goo-Gai-Pan, Orange-Flavor Beef, Yui-Shan Pork, House Beef, Kung-Pao Chicken, Chow Mein & Tofu Family-Style. I'd say the Fish with Black Bean Sauce too, if it were grilled/sauteed rather than deep-fried.
