I got good service and a nice view. They kept it pretty quiet which was nice in a hospital. I came in unable to sit up and get out of bed on a vent, unable to talk or eat. Now I am eating, talking, and don’t have a tube in my throat. It was kind of hard being far from home, but thanks to how I’m feeling I know it was the right choice more

Marlon, Tina, Fran, Alicia, Remi, Harold, Fernando, Ernesto, were some of the best. Everyone was very nice and everything was good. Nothing to complain about. more

I wanted all the wonderful people at Kindred to know that my friend Sister Monique will be keeping you in her prayers. After my set back the other day I realize even more that you are miracle workers. I could have easily died and they brought me back from the brink of death. I love you all and cant wait to visit you again when I am all healed. more

I want to thank Tina who is especially kind and goes out of her way to keep me comfortable and meet my needs. If this whole world was filled with people like Tina there would be no killing or issues. Her name should be kindness. She even held my hand while I had my trach removed. I hope my rehab is half as good as Kindred, if it is I’ll be home in no time! more

I wanted to make an addition to my last post and make one even bigger shout out to Kristi the patient advocate and Nancy the wound care nurse for their devotion and to their job and a personal touch that they provide to their patients! more

Staff is very friendly and the nurses are committed to providing excellent service to their patients. The food is above average. Didn’t find out until the end of my month long stay that they make an awesome bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich! As in any profession there are always employees who are not as committed to their patients, however, in my experience here there are many that will go out of their way to help, even when not assigned to me. Ruby, Matt, and Reggie need a special shout out for going above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortably and completely attended to. Manny, PT/OT, made my sessions fun and treated me like a family member, always with an optimistic smile on his face! more

i love Kindred. everyone takes good care of me. i am not happy to be in the hospital but happy that it is here. they made me feel so much better so i am ready to go get stronger and go home. My husband is happy i am here too more

As soon as I got here everyone started working on me and made me feel comfortable. Therapy has me walking better so that they are able to walk me with only one person and no wheelchair behind me! After less than a week I was completely off the vent and I now don’t even need oxygen. I am able to care for myself for the first time in months. My family was worried due to the long distance and negative reviews but they are happy that I came here. Everyone is nice. Thanks Kindred! more

What is not to love about Kindred? Dr. Grella and his team are angels of encouragement and life. Jara, Valerie, Beth, Kristi, Marisol, Diana, Noralynn, Remy, May, Fernando, Jennifer, Jon, Melissa, Andrew, Saj, Robin, Alexa, Ruhul, Darcia, Yvonne, Carol, Manny, Rose, Tina, May, Emily, Beth, Hamilton, and many others are what make Kindred a place of immense healing. Dr. Grella is not only a man of science, but a person of profound compassion and integrity who always has time to answer your questions thoroughly and listen to any of your concerns. The nurses and the nursing assistants are consummate professionals and most importantly, men and women of compassion. What good is it if your loved one’s nurse is competent in nursing skills, but devoid of compassion and kindness? It takes a special kind of person to have the ability to empathize with the agony of their fellow man, and that, I can assure you, is precisely what you will find at Kindred. If I had to make the decision all over again of where to send my dad following his stay at an acute care hospital, it would hands down be Kindred. My family and I were able to breathe a sigh of relief once we arrived. We were surrounded by extremely caring, patient and kind professionals who wanted my dad to get better just as much as we did. My dad is 81 years old and was involved in a MVA which subsequently had him on full ventilator support - until he came to kindred. Today he is off the ventilator completely and eagerly looking forward to the day when his trach is but a bad memory. If you’re looking for an LTAC anywhere in the continental United States where the staff will care for your loved as if they were one of their own, then you must request admission to Kindred. My first day, September 26th 2019, I was greeted with such a warm welcome that it made me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. I am still here, but confident that I will be leaving in much better shape than when I got here as I feel a little better everyday! The Nurses, Aides, therapists, and doctors are thorough in making sure my daily needs are met. I want to say thank you to everyone in Kindred for all their assistance! more

Earlier this year our mom experienced health issues that required the use of an LTAC facility. After another ICU stay in August, this time at St Joe’s in Wayne, her doctor recommended LTAC at Kindred before returning to the rehabilitation center she has been recovering in. Our prior experience with LTAC made us dread the thought but knew she needed a little more medical attention then her rehab center provides. We were pleasantly surprised right from the first day she was transferred here. The different departments work well together as a team with a common goal, to get the care and treatment our mom requires. They are all willing to answer questions and listen to our concerns. We could not be happier with the treatment she is getting. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, aides, and therapists as well as the case managers and patient relations staff. The journey has been difficult for our mom but you all have made a difference. more

I can’t say enough great things about Kindred Hospital. I came here directly from two other hospitals pretty broken. I was completely oxygen dependent, unable to speak, swallow and scared to death that not only would I never speak again but also be unable to return to work as the primary earner for my family. The team quickly surrounded me with the care I needed. I was able to speak with assistance in 2 days and finally on my own by the end of my 2 week stay. I received occupational and physical therapy that had me walking on my own and confident in my ability to take care of myself and eventually my family. A few examples of the excellent care I received were from Christie, patient advocate. Rik, Marisol, Marlon and Armie from the respiratory team. Robyn, Andrew, Manny and Saj from the speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy team. Darcia, Al, Jenn, Yu, Andrew and Susan from the nursing team. Case Manager Valerie, and finally Dr. Ismael. I highly recommend Kindred to individuals and their loved ones. more

From the moment I came in I have been treated with TLC. I think the nursing staff is excellent as well as the food! I am confident in the care and treatment plan they have laid out for me. My doctor had the sweetest bedside manner today and held my hand when he told me something he knew I wouldn't particularly like. His delivery was so kind and gentle and he came in over 3 times just for me because he truly cared for my well being. The special touches here are absolutely wonderful and make me feel loved and comfortable. Thanks for making me feel like family Kindred! more
