Kindred Wayne is an amazing facility. My father has been there a few times and each time has been been an outstanding experience. The staff is courtious and caring toward their patients and the family of paitents. There is constant communication between nurses, therapy departments, doctors and administration. Even when the patient leaves and one has a question, they make the time to answer anything. Since we are not in New Jersey, we were not there everyday and My father is non verbal. However, the staff kept us updated and delivered messages to him. They kept us in the loop about any treatments he was recieving, any medications that needed to be changing. They made us comfortable and gave us piece of mind that he was well cared for and safe. They set up transportation for us to visit, without having to worry. Dad has been to Kindred 3 times. Each admission they took him in, evaluated him and settled him immediately. He never waited in a room unattended. Two times he came to Kindred without us. Within the hour of him getting there. Kindred nurses called us to say they had him and would call us back when he was settled. Their respiratory department was able to wean my father off a vent and onto a trache collar. They were able to determine the best set up for him that keeps him stable. They put him on a T-Bar, because of his contractions this is the best equipment piece for him to continue to recieve oxygen. They took care and monitored a wound from another facility. And progressed it healing better in a few weeks compared to months of care. My mom would call morning and night for updates. An the nurse on duty would come to the phone if able. If not whomever picked up would kindly ask if mom would like to wait or if the nurse on duty could call her back. Everyone at Kindred Wayne was amazing. I truly wish there was a hosiptal in New York with the same critical care set up.
