worst sush ever 2/19/2012

The worst sushi i have ever had - and i have eaten sushi since the 60's everywhere. Was in Dayton - told the manager the rice was not really cooked enough - his answer - turned off the rice cooker too early but we have almost used it all up so will bring out new rice -- good luck. I would never go back....... more

Bad Food, Bad Service 10/29/2011

They don't roll their sushi rolls tight enough so they fall apart. they also put mayo around the advocado & cucumbers in the middle of the roll even though I asked them not to and that made them all sloshy YUCK. I ordered the Godzilla roll which is supposed to be COOKED & the fish was still raw. I told the waitress , she just huffed & puffed, the cook came over & said it WAS cooked, very rude nasty attitude, then the manager came over ...he was EXTREMELY rude. Everything looked horrible and tasted horrible and sooooo rude...will NEVER eat there again. They are LAZY...rolls shouldn't be all falling apart & then they just throw some handfulls of sesame seeds all over the plate missing most of the california rolls....LAZY.....Sushi is supposed to be presented in a certain way & rolled tight so it doesn't fall apart!!!! more

The worst sushi experience I have ever had 1/11/2011

I wish I had read some of these other reviews before I went here. The speed of service what horrible. We were at the sushi bar for 1 hour and I had eaten 4 orders of fish (2 salmon, 2 tuna), which tasted nice, but we would have been there for 3 hours if I wanted to eat all that I needed to eat. We left and asked to pay for what we ate. The manager at the time was very rude and said that it takes time to make sushi. I eat suhi ALL of the time and have NEVER encounterd such rediculous service. I do NOT reccomend this place. more

DO NOT EAT HERE! 4/26/2010

I would suggest that you do not eat here. First of all they make their cheifs make your rolls at a slow pace. the owner tony has multiple camaras threw out the restraunt that he watchs from home all the time and if they are making your rolls to quickly the owner will call and threaten the cheif and tell them to slow down. The food was good but it took us 45 min to get one roll. At 830pm (they close at 9), they tell you that you can order your last roll. if you call to make a reservation you have to have all you can eat, which they have the highest prices from all the places that i have had! I really would suggest that you do not go here!!! there are a lot of places that you can go to in carson city thats better!!! good luck! more

Good food, TERRIBLE service! 4/26/2010

Earlier this evening three of my friends and I went into Kim Lees and asked to sit with a certain chef. It took them 35 minutes to get one roll. At 9 oclock we were informed they were closing and the waitress told us we had to pay and leave the restraunt which i found to be very rude. As we were getting ready to leave we were given a $90 bill from the waitress for 4 all you can eat tickets. We asked the waitress if we could be charged for individual rolls since we only had one roll each at $6 a roll. We were informed that we sat in the all you can eat section and she would not change it. We asked to speak to the manager and the waitress called the owner Tony. Tony advised the waitress he was watching us from home on his camera system and he would not change the bill. We advised Tony we should not be charged $20 for one roll of Sushi. They told us there was nothing he would do for us and we needed to leave. I found this place to be very replulsive and I, and all the people I go with will never eat here again. Pros: Chef Ryan was excellent and the food tasted good Cons: The waitress and owner are very rude. more

Worst Service 4/16/2010

I have eaten there over ten times and the sushi is Unpredictable, most days it is good though. The service is awful. The gentleman that works there was rude and not helpful on more then on occation. I called for a to go order and he told me they don't have time and then hung up on me. If you get a female waitress you are in luck because she is very nice and polite. The guys that roll the sushi in the all you can eat bar are also very polite and nice. Because of the gentleman I will never eat there again. This town is small and there are other sushi places to go to. Pros: The Sushi is good most days Cons: The service is awful more

Best sushi Ive ever had 3/19/2010

This was the best sushi I have ever had. The server was really nice and when I requested a roll minus the raw fish that usually came on it, there wasnt an issue and she just requested no rolls with raw fish which was awesome. Some other places get offended. My favorite roll was the NV roll and Lili Roll! I would love to have more right now!!!! I will definetly make the drive from Reno to Carson soo for more sushi!! Pros: Great service, Nice staff, Good location Cons: The place is a little small more

wonderful 12/8/2009

Horrible Service , Poor Sushi Selection and cramped. 2/19/2009

I eat sushi several times a week, and visit locations all over northern Nevada and California. This place is by far the one with the lowest class. You can get better sushi at Wal Mart in the deli section. Manager has no idea of what services other All you can eat sushi restaurants offer. The all you can eat dinner menu looks like a low end lunch selection. The sushi bar is small and cramped with no ambiance. Spent 10 minutes in this hole on Valentines day and was so disappointed in the sushi selection. This high price low quality place only offers the good decent rolls a la carte. Sushi eaters beware. The manager had the nerve to talk about other patrons by telling them this is not MCDONALDs and they don't get it their way. Shame on Kim Lee's for horrible selections and poor service. Don't get sushi here. You are much better of going to Sushi Moto in Reno. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Exceptional All You Can Eat Sushi in Reno/Tahoe, probably the best in the Reno/Tahoe area 6/22/2008

I LOVE SUSHI, and I have tried over a dozen or more a la carte and all you can eat sushi restaurants in this area. Kim Lee's of Carson City ,in this members opinion, is one of the top 3 all you can eat sushi bar's in the Reno/Tahoe/Carson Valley area- #1 in my view. There is quality, freshness, well rounded staff, and a variety in the selection. more

Best sushi in Carson City 5/29/2008

This is hands down the best sushi in Carson City and debatably in the entire Reno/Tahoe area. I have many friends who live in Reno and make the trip to Carson (occasionally) for this place. My only complaint is that they close too early (like everywhere in Carson!) - 9PM. The atmosphere was not what you would expect (cool, old time B&W sports photos) but they moved up front (along 395) to a cool old coffee shop, so it will be interesting to see what they have done - we're going there tonight! Pros: Good food Cons: Close early more
