Best Seattle agency! 3/4/2009

I have been represented by the Kim Brooke Group since 1992! I've gotten many gigs as both an actress and a model. The Kim Brooke Group books both fashion and commercial work which is a huge plus. I have never felt that the grass is greener as far as other agencies go. All the clients love working with her because she is very up front and honest. more

Will work with Th Kim Brooke Group again 2/19/2009

Hello Kim,\r \r Many thanks for your assistance to my Talent Coordinator Belinda Irons in casting our TV campaign for KIRO Radio.\r All talent was on time, professional, and performed up to my high expectations.\r Most importantly, they were genuinely real listeners of KIRO radio, and all were articulate enough to prove it. \r With passion! In fact, I believe all your talent made the final cut,\r A rare occurrence since we had about 25 setups.\r The campaign goes on TV after February 9, multiple spots mostly on local news, so stay turned.\r \r Cheers,\r \r P. Craigslist Ad Very Misleading.... 2/11/2009

I answered an Ad geared toward Baby Boomers -Actresses, etc., no experience necessary. I had been in a couple of films directed by Jake Gott ( Jakespearestudios) and it was a blast! I thought it would be fun to try auditioning for some acting work, especially if there was really no experience necessary. Jake Gott directed me very well, so, I figured I could probably do well with other directors. When I got the calI back from the agency, I was told there would be an evaluation. She asked if I had another job in case I needed to take a class or provide headshots because I would be evaluated for Modeling as well, but, I am 5'4"", hella short! I'm 52...yes, I look 20 (ok 30) (ok, 40) (ok, shut up) No seriously, they will tell a monkey they are gorgeous and can be trained, so watch out. I am not really interested in going ""back to school"". Of course an evaluation of sorts is necessary.but- face it- you will be acceptable even if you stink out loud..as long as you can pay! So...that aside..- I will tell you exactly how my son was ""discovered"".\r He was playing guitar in the streets, and a photographer saw him and got his information. Months later, I was called and they were trying to locate him. ( He was on the road with a guitar on his back...Seattle, Montana, Arkansas...) well, I found him and gave the message and he called the number. The company was Abercrombie and Fitch. They flew him to Boston, got him signed up with an agent, put him up in a nice hotel and fed him like a king. He hung out with supermodels for 2 days, made $500 a day, and at the end of it...he was in the Xmas catalog and decided that was not the life for him...he hated it. ( I cried a little) But, people- THAT is how it is done. He paid for nothing, I paid for NOTHING. I have the catalog as a keepsake! My son is now a performer...check him out on itunes- Eggplant is the name of the band. He's Luke Short. ( also catch his show at Virgo & Pisces, Portland OR , with Boy & Bean) more

Highly Polished Scam Job 1/30/2009

I interviewed with the Kim Brooke talent agency and received a nearly identical high-pressure sales job trying to sell me their acting classes as some others have written about. I wasn't sure if it was a scam at first, but after reading the reviews and looking at how similar it was to my own experience, I believe now that it probably is. \r \r I was also told that I had a great look and that I would have more work than I would know what to do with, each paying several hundred to several thousand dollars plus residuals, but of course I would have to take their $2000 course to learn everything I needed to know first. It felt eerily like I was talking to a high-pressure used car salesman. When I told her I needed a day to think about it, I was told that the classes fill up immediately and if I hesitated I would have to wait months for another opening. When I expressed a concern about putting up that much money I was told I should apply for a credit card or borrow it from someone. She guaranteed I would make back the money in the first month. I think when I realized for sure that it was a great big snow job was when she called me the next day and left me a message saying she had two jobs lined up for me in the Spring and one they even mentioned me by name. I don't know how anyone on earth could have mentioned me by name since she is the first agent I have even talked to and don't even have a head shot done yet. She's been doing this long enough, and apparantly her own acting skills are polished enough to make it sound very credible and believable. She nearly had my checkbook in hand before I managed to wiggle away. While I won't swear she can't deliver what she promises, I think if she could she would not feel a need to push it so hard that your head is swimming by the time you leave. Proceed with caution is my best advice here. more

5 stars + 9/17/2008

I have been with The Kim Brooke Group for over a decade. I landed commercials with Rainer Beer, Microsoft, Pinnacle Golf, The Seattle Mariners and Taco Del Mar, and TV shows such as Pandora?s Clock and The Fugitive, to name a few. The coaches they refer are the best at preparing and helping people with all levels of experience to thrive in this industry. I highly recommend Kim Brooke to anyone. more

Seriously avoid this business like the plague! - SCAM - SCAM - SCAM!!!! 4/29/2008

I read the last review and was amazed at how much it mirrored my experience with them. \r I went in for an 'appointment' and it turned into a, 'Wow, you've got the look, let me show you how much money you could make off just one job plus residuals'. My head was spinning with dollar signs. When I said sign me up, she said, 'Oh, but you need training, I can't send you out on auditions till you've completed our training'..Oh how much is that? 'Well, usually its this much, ($4,200) but for you, I'll give you a special deal and throw in some free headshots all for just $2,000. She said their classes fill up months in advance, but, someone just happened to cancel yesterday and there was only one spot left in class that started in a few days. I said there was no way I could come up with $2000 in a day and she said I should go get a bank loan or a credit card and put it on that. I would easily make my money back within a few months off of my first job. She was extremely aggresive. I told her I had training, real conservatory training to which she replied, 'Well how long ago?"" I said I graduated in '98 but took a break from acting to pursue other things. She said, 'Well things in the business change and you need to get current on new techniques'. So, I looked at what their 'training' program entailed; sense memory, auditioning techniques, reading scripts, taking headshots and learning monologues, etc... and let me tell you something, if you were ever professionally trained you'll never forget sense memory, script and monologue reading and auditioning techniques. I checked out other talent agencies around town and NONE OF THEM have 'training programs' attached to them or ask you for money, NONE. You actually have to audition to become a client. And, there are a ton of REPUTABLE acting schools in Seattle that have great programs that don't cost thousands of dollars.\r Screw the Kim Brooke Groupe. Seriously, someone should put their scamming asses out of business.\r Cons: High pressure sales, misrepresentation of potential earnings and oppurtunity. more

Avoid this agency- alert scam artists 2/28/2008

I want everyone to know to stay away from ""Kim Brooke Group Agency""Located in Seattle! I went there around a month ago. And the first impression I had from the place was not good. The Place is totally 80?s style. 80?s pictures on the wall, scary coaches. And the worst thing of all it the skanky perfume smell everywhere. Anyways, I said to my self, I shouldn?t judge a book by its cover. So they call me in the office, and the lady that was interviewing me was even scarier. She immediately wanted to sign me up for some acting courses $1999.00 w/o tax and that she had only one spot left, And that she saw potential in me so she will reserve it for me ,and so on. She was worst then a tacky cars sales man. I told her I didn?t have the money for now and that I wanted to have more time to think before I make a decision. She acted all disappointed saying that I really don?t want this..if I would want this I would pay the course right away by using my credit card. She was trying to put a guilt trip or some kind of reverse psychology, trying to make me feel guilty that I am not signing up right away- Finally I left the office ?told her that I had some kind of appointment to go to, so she finally let me go?. I have been in other agencies in the past, and it has never worked like this. A day later she called me AGAIN saying that I still have an opened spot. I told her I will call her when I feel ready to sign up. And again she called me.. luckily it went into voice mail. Talk about desperation! Any ways I did my research and found out more bad stories about Kim Brooke.I am very happy I did my research and avoided the SCAM. I hope this review helped you. Cons: everything more
