Rick Gomez was WONDERFUL, so friendly and professional, and all his guys were top notch. Everyone worked with speed and efficiency, and took careful pains to protect my home during the process. I can't believe how clean they would leave the workstation, even when just leaving to go to lunch. I stayed home while the work was done (it forced me to do my taxes), and sometimes I even forgot there was a crew in the house. My electricity went out for the umpteenth time. Kilowatt came the same day and found that my breakers were overloaded and I needed to update my circuit panel. This was a fairly large job so I called a couple of different electricians for price comparisons. Kilowatt was first choice and my final choice. They did a good job. I'm glad I hired them. more

I couldn't figure out why my air conditioning was blowing hot instead of cold. I looked on Citysearch and saw the good reviews so I called Kilowatt out on a service call. They found that the thermostat my son had installed recently was wired wrong. Instead of telling the air conditioner to come on it made the furnace come on! The man who came to my house was Oscar. He was polite and very thorough about his work. I would use this company again. more

Kilowatt rewired my home. I called because my lights were flickering ominously and just as I suspected the wire was old cloth wrapped wiring that needed to be replaced. My brother happens to be an electrician but not around these parts. He guided me through the interview and estimate process. Kilowatt was the best company I interviewed and they did a great job. Coincidentally my brother came out recently and was so impressed with the work I was moved to write this review (a bit belated but never the less grateful for the quality work and good experience). I really appreciate Kilowatt's integrity and quality. They have been professional and easy to deal with with and I thank them for that. My previous home needed new air conditioning equipment in 2009 and Kilowatt did an exemplary job of taking out the old equipment and replacing it with a new energy efficient unit. Recently I purchased a home which didn't even have air conditioning at all, just wall heaters. I felt confident that I could rely on Kilowatt, a company I already trusted, to perform the necessary home improvements for me. I scheduled Kilowatt to install central air conditioning and heating the day we closed escrow and they showed up bright and early. The entire job took 4 days and included new ducting. Old wall heaters were removed and the house became perfectly comfortable in all seasons. Kilowatt also provided electrical upgrades. That work was performed as carefully and professionally as the air conditioning. Once again, I am very grateful to have discovered this excellent company and would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone. more

Grossly OVERPRICED-$$$$$$$$$$ KILLOWAT AC CHARGES KILLER PRICES Called for an A/C Freon boost that I have done every 2/yrs with another company for about $100.-150.00 and decided to see if I could find a better deal. Kilowatt told me its $165.00 for the service call and $60.00 a pound for the freon. I verified with several other companies and some want $45.00 for the service call and others wanted $89.00. Another wanted $100.00 (I made a total of 6/inquiries. As for the Freon most wanted $28.00 LB or $30.00 for the (old) Freon as my unit is 15 years old and does not take the new Freon which is cheaper. So why does Kilowatt air want DOUBLE THE AVERAGE PRICE OF FREON ?? So why does Kilowatt stick you with an OUTRAGEOUS SERVICE PRICE???? $165.00 I certainly learned a lot by doing my homework. The BOTTOM LINE KILLOWATT AC CHARGES KILLER PRICES !!!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I USUALLY DON'T WRITE REVIEWS BUT FELT COMPELLED TO WARN OTHERS IT TAKES ALL OF 2 MINUTES TO TO ATTACH THE FREON HOSE. AT 165.00 THIS EQUALS OUT TO ALMOST $ 5,000 PER HOUR FOR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND THEN ADD YOUR FREON COST. MAYBE THIS COMPANY SERVICES CHARLIE SHEEN OR PARIS HILTON IN SHERMAN OAKS SO I'LL LEAVE THIS POST WITH ONE WORD WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HERE IS THEIR COST FROM ONLINE (WHICH MEANS THAT THEIR COST IS APPROX ($7.50 PER LB). AND KILLOWATT AC IS CHARGING YOU $$$$$$ 60.00 PER LB. !!!! MORE THAN $50.00 PER LB. It was a real pleasure dealing with this company. They replaced my central AC with an energy efficient unit. Ellie, the office manager helped me get utility company rebates. They upgraded my circuit panel and replaced/added some ducting.\r The workers were clean, hard working and easy to communicate with. The owner was always available. The thermostat they gave me is so cool. You will like this contractor. more
