Kids R Kids has been great for both of my boys. The staff was always very good about letting us know about their development in class and they also documented their daily activity as well, but trust me, their staff is so friendly that you will truly know how your children are doing anyway. I also enjoyed the fact that I could check in on my little one via camera throughout the day. My kids loved all their teachers at KRK and I would recommend this daycare to any family interested in a loving and nurturing environment for their kids. more

We have been very pleased with Kids R Kids. Our daughter has been attending since she was 2 and our son attends when he is visiting us. They have always received quality, nurturing care. Kids R Kids provides traditional academic learning experiences as well as educational, fun field trips. We have recommended this daycare to many friends. more

I Love this kids r kids. My son has been to another school before and there is no way to compare them. Kids R Kids Barker CYpress is by far the best place we could have placed our son into. THe entire staff from owner to the cook are absolutely wonderful. Ms. Abriel and Ms. Valerie are very talented, dedicated and involved teachers we ever had. Especially, Ms. Abriel deserves recognition for working very hard with our son and helped him love his school. I can truly say that our son loves and looks forward to go to school. thanks to the efforts of the entire staff! more

Kids R Kids Barker Cypress is a place I feel most confident leaving my children at. The staff and the teachers take extra care to make my boys feel comfortable, safe and loved. The educational program is second to none and is truly worth the cost. I am certain my boys will be ready for Kindergarten based in large part to the efforts of the faculty and administrative staff. I highly recommend Kids R Kids Barke Cypress. more

Kids R Kids has been a bleassing tp our family in many ways and our family would recommend our school to everyone. We like the location and hours of operation but most of all the safety and security of our KRK. We enjoy being able to see our daughter on the sevure website as well as the accountability in glass walls. THe curriculum is wonderful. THe teachers are knowledgeable and kind and strive for success for each child based on where their developmental level is. Our KRK is very open to parent involvement. We love the kindness of the staff, the smile that you get from every staff member, the cleanliness of the building and the owners involvement. We love that this KRK is all about the children and their families and giving attention to each client. I LOVE that directors are always available and kind to you, and seem to just want to help or guide your family to success. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/21/2012

Although I have never sent a poor review in my life, I feel obligated to warn other parents about what a truly terrible experience we had at this school. The daycare's big selling point is that it is accredited and they say that their focus is on teaching, however, from what I saw, the ""teachers"" rarely seemed to pay any attention to the children at all. They walked around cleaning the room all day, rather than interacting with the children. I personally witnessed children hitting and pushing each other every day, and the ""teachers"" just ignored it because they aren't allowed to impose any effective disciplinary actions. My own child started acting out within days of starting there after coming home with horrible bruises up and down his body. He had been enrolled in daycare most of his life and had never had an issue, but he started to cry uncontrollably every time we pulled into the KRK parking lot. I pulled him out of KRK and placed him in another program and the bad behavior immediately ceased. In fact, he is happier than he has ever been! The teachers at his current daycare provide a safe, happy, structured learning enviornment under which he has excelled! I noticed immediately that the children were no doubt happier and (I'm sorry to say, but clearly) more advanced at his new school. After watching the video feed, I could see why. There is rarely a moment that passes by when the teachers (and they deserve that title), aren't interacting with the children and teaching them through fun activities. Somehow, the room is always impeccably clean (much cleaner than at KRK), even though they never seem to take their eyes off the children. It wasn't until I witnessed the new school and how MUCH BETTER it was than KRK, that I truly understood how horrible KRK really was...the two experiences are as different as night and day. I am glad that there are other parents who have had positive experiences at KRK, as I am sure there are some classrooms that are run appropriately. However, I am positive that the parents who wrote positive reviews did not have children in the same classroom that my son was in. It honestly makes me feel sick to my stomach to know that there are children being treated that way, when they could be somewhere so much better! Please think twice before you send your child here, please! more

The attitudes are wonderful, staff knowledge and attitude are fantastic, and the diet plan is better than any other facility.\r \r I would absolutely recommend Kids R Kids Barker Cypress to any family looking for the piece of mind that their children are in a loving and nurturing environment. If I can't look after my children myself, my first choice is Wendy and her staff at Kids R Kids more

LOVE THEM!!! 6/29/2011

Wow, I'm really surprised to read some of these reviews and I am almost certain they selected the wrong center when writing their review. Like another user said, there are ALWAYS two sides to every story. I have brought my kids to this center since they have opened eight years ago. You WILL NOT find a better place. They have the least turn around of any child care school. I would say they still have at least half of their original staff. Your babies will be loved by some of the BEST ladies in the world and your toddlers will be taught by caring trained professionals. If a child has left my son's class it's only because they have moved. He has been with more than half of the kids in his current class since the baby room. The owners are always onsite and involved which is not the norm at other centers. The rooms are always clean. The staff is always friendly. The kids learn from a Cy Fair based curriculum. You'll find allot of the parents are teachers in the Cy Fair school district. Those parents could get discounted before and after school care within their district, but chose not to. I know of two parents personally that pass two other Kids R Kids just to bring their children to this center. I could go on and on and on, but bottom line this really is the best place to bring your kids!!!! more

Staff does not care about anyone!!! 5/19/2010

I would give this place ""0"" stars if I could. Please don't have your kids here. I had my two and had horrible experience. I also know a family member that worked here and she heard and saw some things that are just not what should be happening at a daycare. For instance, when they were short a pad in one of the classrooms for nap, the employee asked the owner himself where she could get another one. He told her to look in the gym and grab one of the ""moldy"" ones and to just wipe it off ""good"". Why do they even keep those there??? They should be in the trash! The employee states that the pad stunk so bad even after she tried her best to clean it!! \r \r The kids are so limited on food. When teachers ask the kitchen for more food if the kids ask for more, they are often told that there is no more especially if it's a food item that is more expensive than the rest. I am sorry but if my kid wants more, you need to give them more because I am paying $200 a week for each child. They are only allowed 2 steak fingers per child and that is it. They use the cheapest tissue paper they can find. I had to take my own wipes and ask them to only use that on my kids' nose since their tissue paper was like using sandpaper!! \r \r At one point, there was a kid that used to bit and after several warnings to his parents, they decided to kick him out of the daycare. Well, when they encounter a similar situation with another kid, they decided not to kick this kid out of the daycare because he had another 2 sibilings that were there as well and that would just be too much money that they would be losing! \r \r Staff comes in sick all the time because they are not allowed to take off when they are short on teachers and by doing that, they are just exposing the kids to get sick from their teachers!!!\r \r The stories are endless but please by all means look somewhere else when looking for a daycare in this area. There are many things that we are not aware of but luckly, I had someone to tell me and took my kids out of there as soon as possible. I know they have cameras and all but there are plenty of areas of the classroom that you can't see through these cameras. \r \r All they care about is the money and nothing else!!! Cons: MANY more

Not all it appears to be 4/8/2010

I have children that attened this daycare. I agree with some of the other comments about the caregivers being cold and unresponsive. Not all of them are like that, but the ones that are ruin it for the rest of them. You know the saying, ""One bad apple......""\r The directors can be difficult to deal with. When presented with an issue, they tend to side with the teacher no matter the circumstance. They tell you they will address and issue and take care of it. However, my experiece was that was all talk. When I followed up with the teachers to see if the issue had been addressed, it had not. When I brought this up to the director, she either ignored me or tried to explain it away. I presented the director with evidence of a teacher bieng verbally abusive. The director did not acknowledge the behavior and the teacher is still teaching there.\r They are very much concerned with appearances and awards. They work to get them, but then do not follow through to honor them.\r I did not have all bad experiences there, but the bad tended to outweigh the good. Pros: Clean environment Cons: Distant staff more

Response to Staff does not care by ""Fahter 11/15/2009

I really hope that all remember that there are two sides to each story. Hearing your experience is devestating. I know for a fact the staff goes out of their way to help each child adjust to new environments. At times, if there are factors present such as it being the child's first time away from parents, not speaking the language of the school or teachers, moving from a different area, or changes in the home environment, it can be particularly rough on children and may take even longer than usual to adjust.\r The secure website where parents can view their children throughout the day can also allow for misinterpretation. You see the teachers moving about most of the classroom, but you don't see the hugs taking place perhaps out of the view or hear the kind, gentle words spoken to the child reassuring them that Mom and Dad are coming back and will be there to get them soon. You also can't hear or see the teachers trying to engage the child in activities.\r An experience such as this is very rare at this school. Hopefully this person was able to find a good place for their child that met his needs. I know Kids R Kids would want that for this person and especially for his child. more

Staff does not care 10/28/2009

We sent our son to KidsRkids Barker Cypress for 5 weeks. He literally cried for the full 5 week period. Each day, I watched my son crying there while the teacher was busy doing something. I am not sure what she was doing but she definitely did not pay any attention to the kids. As if she was only there because she had to. She did not read for them, play or organized a game for the kids.\r \r Ok, the building is clean and nice, they have bunch of toys etc but the one thing that is missing -- attention to the kids... At that point I asked to myself, why am I doing this to my son?\r \r After the second week, I decided to give a visit to the teacher and talk to to her along with the director. I explained them that our son needs our help to improve this situation. When I was there I was assured that they will work on their side. As you can guess, nothing happened. I did give another visit around 4th week and that was it. We decided to take our son back.\r \r I watched my son everyday. cry for a little attention everyday for the next week hoping that the teacher will do something about it. Nothing happened...\r \r All and all, our experience was horrible. I felt like my son was another headcount that brings tuition for the school and nothing else!!!\r \r \r \r Pros: internet viewing Cons: No loving environment, no attention to kids, no curriculum more

THE BEST SCHOOL AROUND 8/29/2008

WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL!! My child started this school when she was 6 months old and is now in kindergarden and I can't beleive how much she has learned. The staff are friendly and where always very helpful with any questions I had through the years. The staff up front are always positive and helpful no matter how busy they are. If you won't your child to go to a school with loving and caring people this would be the place. Pros: friendly, loving, class size, lots of teachers Cons: your child has to grow up and move on. more

Top Notch Care 8/28/2008

I can't say enough about this school!!! I would never use the word daycare to describe this wonderful place. They have a great and knowledgeable staff. It is not uncommon to find the owners and/or directors in the classrooms interacting with the students. My daughter has attended this school since she was 3 months old, and has now moved on to kindergarten. I have found she is more than ready for kindergarten. This school has a great pre-school program that challenges the kids at their own level. This school follows the local school district's curriculum. They even work closely with the school district to assist students with disabilities. I have found that you truly get what you pay for. They are top notch!! It REALLY does not get any better than this school!!! Pros: great learning environments, friendly staff Cons: none that significantly stand out more

Teacher used prohibited method of punishment 2/21/2008

My 2 yr old daughter attended Kids R Kids last year and I actually witnessed a teacher rough handling her while watching online at work (all for not keeping her shoes on as later admitted by the teacher). Needless to say I was shocked and I called the director immediately...she acted like I was crazy and said the teacher had been there for a while and had never been in trouble...When I arrived to pick my daughter they admitted after review of the tape that she was rough with my daughter but did not appologize for not believing me. Their solution was to move my daughter to another class...but I believe the teacher should have been repramanded for her actions..who knows how many other kids she has or will rough handle when angry. Pros: internet viewing Cons: unprofessional staff more

Loving, nurturing environment 8/9/2007

I am sorry that Melo93 had such a bad experience at Kids R Kids Barker Cypress! My child has been going there for 2 years now and I am constantly amazed at how much she learns from this center! Her teachers are kind and loving and are really hands-on with the children. The owners pride themselves on their school and the progress of their students. Their teacher/child ratio is lower than what the state allows to ensure one-on-one time with their students, which is a clear indication to me that the development and nurturing of each child comes before any money making intention. But the real proof is shown in the way my child has grown and what she has learned at the center, is always happy to go to school each morning, and talks about how much her teachers love her. Keep up the good work guys! more

Money Making Machine 2/8/2007

My child was at Kids R Kids for one year, and the care was cold, impersonal, the owners nickel and dime you to death. They are more concerned with awards and appearances tan genuine care. If you want your baby toddler or preschooler to have a nurturing experience that encourages your child to express themselves, have confidence and encourages learning, I recommend that you look elsewhere. Pros: New, Classrooms are clean Cons: Impersonal, cold , expensive more

Very engaging, caring and WONDERFUL!!! 1/30/2007

Our daughter began attending Kids R Kids/Barker Cypress in March 2003, and is one of the original kids who has attended since she was just 3 months old. She has learned sooo much there. The teachers and assistants do a great job with educating kids, and they really get the kids prepared for the ultimate day when they will ultimately attend kindergarten. They positively discipline your kids, and help your kids to understand choices. They've got cameras in each room, so you can log in and see what's going on in your kids' room. It helps for those parents who are having a hard time ""letting go"" of their kids during the day. The owners and the director are AWESOME. They go out of their way to make sure each child is getting what he/she needs. I highly recommend this day care to anyone who wants a positive, rich environment for their child. Your child would very lucky to have such a caring and involved day care staff. Pros: Good location, easy access, bright, positive atmosphere, helpful/friendly staff and management Cons: Your kids can't go here forever:) more
