Kids' Dentist

Dr. Yip is a great kids dentist. Reviewing that would be excellent. His staff is great and very good with kids. What is poor is the way they give estimates. I was given an estimate for fillings on my son's teeth and told it was valid until 2/15/13. We went a day before that, 2/14/13. When it was said and done my bill had almost doubled. The fees that they quoted me had increased by $35 dollars on multiple ""quotes"". As I look at both the estimate and the bill that I requested, I am still in shock. The codes that are on the bill are the same that are on the estimate so I don't understand how the prices can be so off. Plus I went before the ""expiration"" date of the estimate. If you want a goods kids dentist, Dr. Yip is great but if you have to get work done in his office, do not believe his estimate because you will be paying a lot more than you bargained for. more

My son has various social challenges and always panics when it is dental appointment time. He was so happy during his appointment. Everyone there is so gentle and easy to talk with. I would recommend Dr. Yip and staff to anyone! -H.G. more

My son bumped his tooth, and as a result I have had to take to him to the dentist twice before two years of age. Dr. Yip and his staff have made seeing the dentist a delightful experience. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, and you can tell they really love kids.. Both times they have gotten me right in. The office is fantastic. It is very clean and so much fun for kids. Dr. Yip and his staff are masters of distraction and they somehow manages to trick my kid into showing him his teeth without upsetting him. This practice has obviously done their homework on how to be kid friendly, as well as a leader in customer service. I will always take my son to Dr. Yip! more

The staff is wholly interactive with the kids. They make the visit pleasant for children. video games in the waiting are and in the back. They really make extraordinary efforts to make this a pleasant experience for kids. Don't believe the bad reviewer, no one is perfect but that was just vindictive, obviously they cannot be pleased. i've been taking my kids here for about 5 years now and I would recommend Dr. Yipp and his staff to anyone who has kids. They are the best kids dentist in town. Today, Dr. Yipp was able to get my very active 4 year old son to sit still while he did an extraction, a cap, and 2 fillings. On the way out my son asked if he could come back when he was better so he could play with all the fun games and toys they have. I really like that they make my kids feel good about coming to the dentist. Pros: Fun and friendly staff in a great environment for kids. more

I noticed 1 bad review out so so many great ones and all i have to say is the negative reviewer is out of his or her mind. How can anyone who has gone to The Kids Dentist say anything negative about them?!?! Dr Yip is the the kindest most gentle health/dental provider i have EVER met. He takes the time to relate to the kids and makes them feel comfortable. I am a mom of three girls 41/2, 3, and 20 months and they all enjoy going to The Kids Dentist. The staff there is equally as sweet, caring, well mannered and patient. I have been going to The Kids Dentist for over 31/2 years now and i have never had a bad experience with Dr Yip and his staff. The person who wrote the negative review is total wrong and those of you who are reading these reviews just remember MY review--GO TO THE KIDS DENTIST and YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN WILL HAVE A GREAT DENTAL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took my 3 year old there and they were impatient, rude and irritable. My 3 year old obviously was upset so I suggested we reschedule in a week and I bring her to dentist camp for fun and getting her used to the dentist. On the way home, with my 3 year old crying in the car they told me to find another dentist. I have never been to a worse dentist and I have two kids. Don't take your child here! I just can't say enough positive things about Dr. Yip and his staff. Dr. Yip's gentle manner, thoughtfulness, patience, and respect for a parent's opinion, as well as his thorough explanation for treatment reasons are a rare quality and very appreciated. Dr. Yip's staff is absolutely delightful, energetic and great with kids. Dr. Yip and his staff help a child to feel comfortable and at ease, creating a warm, safe and friendly environment that kids want to return to. Dr. Yip offers parents dental treatment options as well as a wide variety of entertainment options including; video games, television, toys, and games. His concern for a child and parent's comfortability is obvious as well as his promotion of preventative treatment and the least intrusive treatments as first priority. The Kids' Dentist now offers, as a routine component, digital x-rays which are 1/3 less radiation. As a parent, I truly appreciate and am thankful to have such a wonderful resource in Dr. Yip who shares my concerns for my child's long term health and well being. Pros: all pros Cons: no cons more

I noticed someone posted a negative review. It's hard to believe, since the office is so gentle. They've never been impolite or impatient, and I know that they would only ask a family to leave the office if they don't show up for their scheduled appointments on a regular basis. \r On the contrary , we've tried a few pediatric dentists, but this office is definitely the best! They have always worked with us to deal with ugly things like insurance and the stresses of dental visits.\r The hygienists are very good with my 3 and 8 year old kids. Dr. Yip fixed some cavities on my son and he didn't even mind. The laughing gas, cartoons, and wonderful assistants helped a lot. They also helped my 3 yo daughter to stop sucking her thumb which was causing her teeth to get flared out. She also was starting to get small cavities between her teeth. I floss my kids teeth now and haven't run into any new dental problems so far. I love how this office tries to educate us to prevent complicated dental problems. I'm a kindergarten teacher at a private school in Lake Oswego. A lot of my kids see Dr. Yip. They always say they love going to this fun office. Dr. Yip helps them with their confidence since they're usually unsure of themselves at this age. They are always proud of themselves after going in for their dental visits and bring dental lessons back to school and home. I saw for myself Dr. Yip's personality when his office did a dental magic show presentation at our school. We now recommend them to all of our students! Dr Yip has been a close colleague of mine since 1994 and I have been refering patients to him since 2002. As a refering dentist, I can contest that the parents and the kids that I have refered are greatful to have met him and love to visit his office. He has a special gift when it comes to communicating with kids and their parents. For example several kids I have sent over to Dr. Yip have been fearful of the dentist but after meeting with him they get over their fears, have fun and cannot wait to go back to his office. Dr. Yip likes to take his time with parents to carefully communicate their child's treatment. My wife and I would like to recommend The Kids' Dentist to parents looking for a great long term experience. We took our daughter their after hearing about them from a friend. We have been searching for a patient and caring pediatric dentistry office for a long time. Dr. Yip and his staff were great with her, and she had a great time. She loved the rainforest office, fish tanks, and toys. They even have Nintendo games over the dental chairs. They kept us well-informed about our insurance benefits and scheduling. The cosmetic work that Dr. Yip performed on my daughter's front teeth has greatly improved her self esteem. Finally she is smiling for family and classroom photos again.
