It's possible that I didn't get what I paid for simply because the manicurist was distracted the day I had my spa day, however, when I told the receptionist of my experience my hopes of turning around the disappointment were denied. I politely explained the following to the spa. I had received a $200 gift certificate for a stone pedicure (1hr), Ki manicure (.5hr), and age defy facial (1.5hours). In her distraction, the manicurist left me with my feet soaking in warm water and stones (the only contact I had with stones) until the water was cold. When she reappeared she proceeded to rush through the massage portion of my promised 1 hour pedicure. The manicure was no better. My cuticles are only slightly more conditioned (forgot to put cuticle oil on one hand) and neglected to remove my driving calluses. When that portion of my pampering was complete, she forgot to separate my toes so that the polish would be preserved and had to touch up my toenails. The manicurist was sweet to provide me with a snack from her purse because she knew that I was hungry and they had no fruit or snack of any kind to provide me while I was there through the lunch hours. I appreciated her concern. The true 5-star spas I have routinely visited in the past provided fruit, at the bare minimum, for their clientele. My facial was nice and I liked the products, although I only had one side of my face steamed and it ended 10 minutes early. I simply wanted to get what was promised and what we paid for, but when I called to speak with a manager, who was unavailable, I was told that they were sorry about my disappointment and would simply give me a "buff and shine" worth $20. Frankly, that was insulting. My services were 20 minutes short and their offer of a $20 credit hardly replaces the $60 stone pedicure (minus the hot stones), an incomplete manicure and a short and incomplete age delay facial ($115). I was hoping that I had found a new spa to replace the wonderful spas I had been accustomed to before I moved here. I won't be back even for the free "buff and shine". The lack of management concern sealed that deal for me.
