Simply BETTER than the BEST !!! 10/3/2007

Amazing Food, Beautiful Ambience, Exceptional Service, and the best tasting food that I've ever had. I am a big fan of Indian food, and take my word for it, they know what they are serving. Everything just tastes so great, and the theme and surroundings make you feel that you are actually sitting in a royal Indian atmosphere. Two thumbs up !! \r \r Not too pricey for the service and the quality of the food. On my visit some of the Indian celebrity had just landed there, no wonder they chose this restaurant. Bottom line is that its worth every penny. Highly recommended. \r \r If you love Indian food, you must go there and if you don't like Indian food, you will start loving it after going there. Pros: Food tastes amazing, Service is superb, Great ambience to be in with, Friendly staff Cons: You kidding me, No Cons !! more

Not at ALL what was expected. Not returning, either! 1/8/2007

Wow, what a dissapointment! After hearing glowing accolades about Khajuraho India, and having a wife who is hesitant about Indian food, which I, by the way love..we went. first off the food was okay, not great, far from the best i've had in Philly.\r We had:2 cardemom flavored teas, 1 Chicken Tandoori, 1 Shrimp Tandoori, 1 Saag (spinach with Potatoes) 3 pcs. of Naan (bread),Basmati Rice, a skimpy relish plate and a skimpy bowl of raita and the dinner (with tip) was $95.00!!! WOW!!! We could have gone to a great steakhouse, gotten steaks, drinks & sides for that!! This place has a website with a menu online. Our prices charged were different.\r I know that this sounds really strange, but we had an uncomfortable feeling that the Maitre'd was laughing at us when we were there. \r It wasn't a very clean place either. The bottom line here is..I have had much better Indian cuisine here in Philly (as well as in the 'burbs) at more realistic pricing with more attentive service. Had I bothered to check the Citysearch reviews first, I'd have passed on this place, and that is my recommendation to you! Pros: Convenient to Main Line Cons: just Okay food but way overpriced more

Terrible food, overpriced, and disgusting 11/19/2006

My fiance and I have officially boycotted this place. We've eaten here twice, and I have been so disappointed. First off, the place is way overpriced for food that tastes like unflavored Indian food. That defeats the purpose for going out for Indian food. The second time we ate there, we decided to try the buffet. They don't even serve chicken tikka masala for the buffet, which shows that they are cheap. Considering that's one of the most popular dishes around, I believe that it is their way of trying to get people to pay extra for it. I really don't understand why this place is rated a 9.2. Take it from an Indian girl, don't waste your money. The worst Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. Cons: bad food, not the cleanest place more

Get your act together, If you are going to be on the mainline, charge mainline prices, provide a decent clean, service. 11/12/2006

My Wife and I went to This Place Friday evening.\r I eat once a day, and it is important.\r We got Take out.\r The food was awful.\r I am familiar with Indian food, and this food ws awful.\r 85$ for take out.\r Expensive is fine, awful is not.\r The mixed grill was so dry, sitting around, gross. Inedible.\r The appetizers were not appetizing, they were dry, and gross.\r My wife's dishes were skimpy and tasteless.\r Food was also cold.\r BOOOOOOOO.... Cons: everything more

never say good to this food 9/17/2006

someone somewhere recommended I try this authentic restaurant. suffice to say I was hard pressed to give them a 7.2. I rather have the Indian fare from Trader Joes. At least I do not have to live a tip. Recommended only if you have nowhere to go and want to impress the other party with beautiful ""dekaN"" women pasted on the wall. My mom in law was not impressed. Pros: the carpet was clean Cons: had to live a tip for lousy food/avrg service more

Most Mediocre Frozen Indian Food on the Main Line 9/8/2006

If you eat meat, Koojeehor(rible)-O is just passable. I had the Lamb Kajari(ble). The dish consisted of three huge chunks of what I hope was lamb (they were soft and mushy) and five enormous tomato slices (they were soft and mushy, too). Then the whole thing was spiced to the gills, probably to enflame your neurons so you wouldn't be able to immediately return home and write a cogent review of the place on Citysearch.\r \r The real humdinger, as it were, of the night, was my fiancee's meal. She has the misfortune (in this case) of being a vegetarian and, if you, are a vegetarian who decides to eat at this restaurant, you too shall have misfortune showered upon you like so much coriander. She ordered Navratan Korma which, in Khajuraho's Hindi apparently translates as ""Frozen Veggies from Superfresh in Campbell's Cream of Broccoli Sauce"". Now, we can't be sure about the broccoli sauce, but we're damn sure about the frozen veggies part, because I'm sitting here looking at the very bag of frozen vegetables that her meal consisted of. They're, just in case you're curious, too: La Fe ""Italian Blend; Grade A Fancy Style"". Perhaps this dining establishment feels justified in charging $11.95 for a plate of reheated and spiced frozen vegetables because the bag says ""Fancy Style"", but I would submit to you that Khajuraho would have no compunction about serving its patrons ""Fancy Feast"" which, for those of you who don't own cats, is cat food. \r \r For proper food, the prices aren't bad. For frozen food, they're outrageous. \r \r Why go here when you can easily heat up a bag of frozen veggies yourself, if you want plop open a tin of soppy mystery meat product and cover the whole thing in cream of broccoli soup, maybe garnish it with a bit of curry and call yourself a cosmopolitan diner in the comfort of your own home? \r \r In fact, do that. Stay home. Pros: It was family-friendly, in spite of sandstone depictions of unclothed people on walls. Cons: Food, service, price more

If you want overpriced bad food, come here! 4/10/2006

Every year or two, because we don't feel like driving out of the neighborhood, we re-try Khajuraho, hoping that it got better - no such luck. The only thing that has changed is the prices - they got higher. In fact, they charge you for every little extra, like raita. The mixed veggie appetizers were awful, the shrimp tandoori was mediocre tasting but the shrimp were very small - it was like $18. The chicken soup was OK, but the mulligatawny was not nearly as good as any other place in Philly. The owners preened themselves in the mirror while we ate, no doubt thinking of how much money they were making. more

below par food, overpriced 4/8/2006

I'll be honest, if you are Indian, you have definitely eaten better Indian food than this for a fraction of the price. The aloo tikki was stale and too salty, the curry was ordinary at best. For the tourists, the only unique thing about this joint is the Khajuraho theme, which you can experience much better with a book at the library. The curry is weakly spiced and mildly flavored - a plus if you are not into hard core set-me-on-fire cuisine, a bore if you are. Cons: expensive, below par food more

A good Indian restaurant 9/5/2005

I am from South India but I have to agree that this is really the best of North Indian food there is, unless you are in New Jersey. I visit this place often cause it is only a mile from my residence and I cant really complain on the wait times at all. As for the waiters, I read the earlier review and I should say that just one instance does not make a bad impression. All I expect the waiters to do is to get the stuff I need. If you don't like the person, dont tip him; and if you are too cold, try some other place. Pros: Authentic more

Very poor overall 1/30/2005

When the restaurant is freezing and you ask the waiter to turn up the heat and he goes ""Sorry its already up"" you know the restaurant isn't customer focused. Marginal food, apathetic waiters, high prices out-of-proportion to the food value and charging for condomints that are usually free at other restaurants - this is what you can expect. Cons: APATHY, Poor quality, High prices more

An average place 10/28/2004

I have been to several Indian restaurants in PA. This place was okay. The food was not extraordinary and it was a little expensive for an Indian restaurant in Ardmore. Service was normal. more

A Pleasant Surprise 5/26/2004

After trying Karma and Cafe Spice in the city, I ventured out to the burbs for some Indian fare. And boy was it worth the trip. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The quality and flavors of the food made up for the lacking ambiance. The service was attentive and prompt, the overall cost was reasonable for the quantity and quality and the food was well presented and delicious - a must try for any Indian enthusiast! Pros: Vast menu, Service more

Typical Indian Eats 10/21/2002

Khajuraho serves up the standard Indian dishes and does them pretty well. Our food was good, but not extraordinary. The portions were a little on the small side, but most Indian places have comparable portions, and they were a little expensive for Indian in Ardmore. Service was efficient, but cold. Our server had an extra long thumbnail, a little unappetizing to see while he handled our food. Pros: Ample parking, attentive service, intimate Cons: waiter's thumbnail, small portions more

delicious 10/7/2002

delicious food- complex flavors- service was great- free parking- not expensive more

7 5/25/2002

As an indian, I can tell you that this is probably the best indian food in the Philadelphia area. However, the service ranges from mediocre to atrocious. As long as you don't expect good service, the food the is definitely worth the wait.... Pros: great food Cons: service sucks more
