Editorial review from Citysearch 10/22/2012

oh wow! I'm a bit horrified at some of the reviews. I have 2 little ones and we have never been so happy. For those of you complaining about the work, you knew this going into it...how amazing, as parents, to be so involved in our child's education and growth. Not everyone is so lucky! ;) more

Great Little School 9/26/2011

I have to say that I have had a fantastic experience at this School with my children. As long as you understand the concept of a Cooperative you will enjoy it also. Watching your children learn and grow is reward enough. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be involved in your children's early childhood education. more

Fantastic experience 9/24/2011

The pre-school coop is a fantastic nurturing environment dedicated to the children of our community. There is some work, but by the very nature of a cooperative, there should be. There are two clean ups per year and a few small fund raisers. Working in the class room is not work. It is an opportunity to watch your children interact with others. It is a warm nuturing environment. My children have made friendships that will last a lifetime as have my wife and I. Children with parents that are willing to sacrifice their time for the benefit of their children are thevery type of people that I want my family to be around. I am more than willing to give up a couple of mornings per month to help out at the school. I cannot emphasise enough the benefits that our little school provides. Our graduates are consistently in the upper tier of student success thoughout their scholastic careers. more

Think about paying money to work in a place... 8/30/2011

At the begining they start telling you that you are going to help in the school, what you dont know after you paid that you are doing everything for the teachers and school and they just watch you work, I went the first day and told me how nice it is and they basickly i would have to work overthere like a full timer and in top of that pay anywhere from $115.00 to $200.00 per month; like i said its a scam they change their rules and policies everyday so you cant argue anything. Check before you go to this place like i said i was one of the parents at this place and regret it for the rest of my life. i would not recommended in my whole life to any of my coworkers. Honestly the persons that wrote this good reviews are the people that manage the place if you ask anybody in key west about this they would tell you that they are the worst of the worst, also no security at all. more

Great Preschool! 9/4/2008

We are new to the Key West Preschool and we are having an excellent experience. My daughter is in the 2's class and she hasn't really been a willing participant and her teacher has been so patient and kind with her. Yes there is work to be done, but that is the very definition of Co-operative-everyone lends a hand. I am excited to be a part of an organization that has such a sense of community. I feel that my children are safe & cared for when I'm not there and that I am respected as a mother when I'm the working parent in the classroom. I am looking forward to the rest of the year. Pros: everything Cons: not for fulltime working parents ( unless they have a flexible schedule) more

Love, Love, Love the Co-Op :) 8/23/2008

The Key West Preschool Co-op is an AMAZING place to send your children. I spent three years there with my son and will start all over this fall with the mommy and me class. I met many great parents that will forever be my friends. The curriculum is fantastic and the concept of 'children, parents and teachers all learning together' is something I whole heartedly believe in. Early childhood education SHOULD have a lot of parental involvement and this school displays that theory. I highly recommend the Key West preschool co-op to anyone that wants to be ACTIVELY involved in their child's early learning experience. It is truly gratifying and rewarding to both child and parent! Pros: lots of parental involvement more

Proven to be the best! 8/18/2008

I was really upset by the previous review the co-op received. The school is a co-op, therefore parents cooperate to keep the school running. As in everything there are always people who want to reap the benefits of a program like this without having to do anything for it! This is obviously one of those people! I have had an amazing time at the co-op, my children are ecstatic to go to school and the VPK program has been proven by the state to be the best in the lower keys. This school isn't for everyone, but if you want to be an active parent in a supportive positive environment and you have the time necessary this can be the best experience your child will have. more

Worst experience ever 5/6/2008

I was enthusiastic about joining a cooperative school. That is, until I found out that ""Co-Op"" actually means that the leaders don't have to do their jobs; nor do they ensure that staff does theirs. I was sorely dissappointed and at some points horrified at how this school is run. Complaints aren't addressed. There are no clear lines of communication. I never knew if I was to go to the Board members or administration for questions and complaints. I could not even get that issue cleared up. Nobody knows anything. Pros: Small class size Cons: Everything having to do the running of the program more
