Know what to expect. 2/29/2004

If you order anything other than pancakes or the caso, it will not be good. The pancakes and the caso, however, are very good. The service will be varying degrees of bad. The food is pretty cheap. It is open 24/7. If you come on a weekend night there will be various loud, drunk people. Regardless of all this, I still go there often. Pros: pancakes, caso, 24 hours Cons: , service, parking more

Music Problems 2/6/2003

Kerbey Lane Cafe on Kerbey ln is much better than the Guadalupe location for late night eats. The reason: Noise. They play one kind of music in the kitchen and another in the resturant. I saw guys playing cards mention it and then someone reading mention it all within 10 min. Food is good and served quickly. The kitchen guy can play his tejano music just turn off the 80s stuff when he does or vise versa, please! Pros: Great food, Fast cook, Great value Cons: 80s/tejano music mix more

Don't show up hungry 1/22/2003

We decided to head to Kerby's for breakfast on a Saturday morning, and the wait was horrible. It took at least an hour to get sat. We had heard that the food was really yummy- but it was ""OK"" at best. My fiance had the pancakes and thought they were good- not great. The service was laid back and friendly- and the place had a funky feel to it that made it more fun. Overall, this place is good but I would stay away on Saturday mornings! Kerbey Lane's gingerbread pancakes are the best but the service here is soooo super slow. It took about 10 minutes for someone to take our order, even though the place was only about 1/4 full, the food took forever to get to us, and then our waiter didn't bring the check for 15-20 minutes after we were finished. and it wasn't even crowded. don't go here unless you have at least an hour and a half to eat. more

Good eatin' around the clock! 8/8/2002

You can always count on Kerbey Lane when coming back from a party on west campus or when you get those late night munchies. Menu is a lot like Denny's, but with more and better breakfast items. Located on Guadalupe, so it is filled with UT students on Friday and Saturday nights. Pros: Friendly staff, Great omelettes Cons: May have to wait more

Stick to Lamar and the Original 8/2/2002

Of course it's great food and so close to walk from campus..................but the service here sucks!! You wait forever just to get your chips and drinks. My fav is Lamar, but you can't go wrong with the original. more

Bad Service 7/28/2002

Ate here before I moved to Austin and the service was great. Then when I moved to Austin a few years ago, the service sucked. It took the staff 45 mins. before even asking if we'd like anything to drink. I have to say, that I left and will never go back again. Its inexcusable for a local business to provide that type of service even once. Also the same year, there where several issues with the health department in the North Austin location and the relocation of the central location has caused a sour taste with some of us.
