After a horrifying brazilian experience at Le Petite Retreat Day Spa, I went to Kenya based on the reviews here. As everyone has stated, she is AWESOME! She was very warm and comforting and the brazilian was actually not that painful! I also got my eyebrows done by her and was getting compliments for a week after! I went to her a few more times, but because I live kind of far, I tried finding someone else in my area. I went to Westwood Waxing Studio based on a friend's recommendation. The lady there was....ok. For me, Kendra is still the reigning queen of brazilans. She is quick, very thorough, and somehow makes a brazilian practically painless. Despite the distance, I will continue going to see her. Kenya is definitely an expert at what she does. She is very patient and will make you feel ultra comfortable. Kenya's knowledge of skin (any type) is amazing. I have been one of Kenya's clients for a little over a year now and I would never go to anyone else for this intricate Brazilian bikini wax. The amazing little studio that she has at Chess and Burman is extremely comfortable and you feel at home walking in and sitting on the couches in the hallway and reading the plethora of magazines while waiting for your appointment. It's much more comfortable for me than sitting in close quarters awkwardly in front of a receptionist. Also, I am a college student and Kenya has made wonderfully affordable prices for my friends and I and she has always been able to fit me into her schedule! Kenya makes a special effort to accommodate all of her clients and I doubt you would feel as comfortable anywhere else! Pros: Atmosphere, BEST BRAZILIAN! let's face it, i love facials, so i've become somewhat of a facial snob. and a critic. everybody wants to be pampered when it comes to getting a facial, especially when hard earned money is involved. some places make an impression-if you get my drift-and kenya at studio 41 was no exception. wasn't i so pleasantly surprised then, by not only getting a luxurious facial, but by also receiving such star treatment. her studio is like an oasis of warmth and relaxation, the music, thankfully, is not typical but so good, and kenya is absolutely delightful. she is able to read off your mood within the first 2 minutes, so if you're interested in being a chatty cathy, she's right there with you-excellent conversation, i might add. if you're in the mood for a little solitude and down time, you can count on kenya to lull you into complete relaxation. and perhaps you'd like to know a little about what kind of products she's using-you've never met someone as enthused or knowledgeable about products as kenya is. my multiple experiences with kenya have been amazing and i recommend her to all of my friends and colleagues.\r \r word of advise: grab two birds with one stone and have her take care of all your waxing needs as well-you won't be disappointed! I have been going to Kenya for almost two years now and wouldn't trust my skin to anyone else. Her zeal for skin care is contagious and has definitely forced me to step up my regimen. If you have never had a facial, she is the person to visit for your first time. She will talk you through the process then explain how you can maintain your post-facial glow at home. I have terribly sensitive skin, which Kenya has tended through everything from post-debauchery dehydration and wind burn to post wax flare-ups. Kenya's facials are the most fabulously healing, comforting, skin-loving, self-caring thing I have ever experienced. My skin has never looked better. I find her decadent facials to be even more relaxing than a full body massage, and as a result have started giving gift certificates to friends. It's a divine experience! more

After being here in LA for 3 1/2 years I finally found a place that I love! I have tried a variety of salons and spas for facials and left many after feeling something was missing. Kenya has it all! She is warm, kind, professional and very knowledgeable about skincare and the products that she uses (which are the BEST/BioElements). The facial room was warm and inviting, the music relaxing, the facial bed was warm and Kenya's facial technique is wonderful. Kenya discussed all my skin concerns, but allowed a quiet relaxing environment while doing the facial. She even gave a great hand massage while my mask was on! The prices are fantastic, she has very convienent hours and parking was easy. What more could you ask for? I am hooked! Thank you Kenya! I had decided to never be waxed again.but then i met this guy. A friend said Kenya was the best and she is. i love the new location (hadnt been to any other) and i am now a Kenya fan. she's fun and puts you right at ease then it's over quick and easy. don't wait to get waxed like i did! call kenya and have a laugh! I have been to many salons looking for a good, quick and somewhat painfree bikini wax....but was unsatisfied until I was referred to Kenya at Queen Bee!!! I have been going to Kenya for facials for almost a year ( after visits to all the high-end salons in town...)and I wouldn't go anywhere else. She uses great quality products, provides good advices and is a excellent technician. She will sense if you are up for a talk or not, but if you are, conversation is always fun and interesting .Bungalow place is relaxing, unpretentious and girl-friendly. more

Kenya is personable, fun and just down right awesome. She knows when to chat, ske knows when to be quiet and let you enjoy the facial, but above all, she knows good skin. I've gone to a few spots in LA for facials and brazilians, and I have not had the same experience I've had with Kenya. She is very friendly, experienced and knowlegeable with the services I've had from her thus far. The brazilian was quick and virtually pain free and has lasted me almost a month already without any bumps. After my good experience with the brazilian I decided to sign up for a basic facial with her and my skin felt so amazing for weeks after. I've definitely found a favorite person in LA for my waxing and facial services! Also, the vibe in the salon is very cute. I HIGHLY recommend her! I have been a client of Kenya's for over six months and I can say definitively that she is one of the best technicians for waxing in Los Angeles (maybe Southern California). She is technically proficient, punctual and very personable. If you're looking for a brazilian or other wax service (she also does facials), you need look no further. Kenya has a way of making you feel at ease, she takes her time and does a thorough job with minimal discomfort. She works quickly and I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for my appointment. She uses both hard and soft wax (essential for brazilians) and has both women and men as clients (guys, she's the one if you are looking for this service). Her prices are very competitive and her hours are client friendly (I see her after work and she stays late to accommodate those with busy work schedules). I've could share a few horror stories of experiences I've had at other locations, but I was going to be in LA and thought I'd give Kenya and the Bee's a try. It was well worth it. One, if not the most painless experience. She was quick, friendly and very personable. She even managed to work through technical difficulties with one of the warming tubs... I was recommended to Kenya by a co-worker, and I found her to be well worth the search. I don't really like to get waxed, but Kenya made it easy for me. Now, I swear by her and won't see anyone else.
