I highly recommend Dr. Kent! I have been a patient of his off and on for almost ten years and haven't had one negative experience with him, or with any of the staff that work in his clinic. His bedside manner is BEYOND amazing. I have been to other doctors over the years for varying specialties and have found so many lacking in genuine empathy. This is NOT the case with Dr. Kent...he genuinely takes a heartfelt interest in his patients' well-being. Having to go the doctor is rarely a ""fun"" experience, so having a doctor with an amazing bedside manner makes it more palatable. I have referred friends & colleagues to Dr. Kent over the years and have always received positive feedback from them as well. One referral recently informed me he is going to go see Dr. Kent exclusively from now on, after having been with another doctor exclusively for over 15 years. I don't hand out recommendations lightly...you have to really make a great impression for me to take the time to write a review like this. I highly recommend Dr. Kent and his staff. more

For as long as I can remember, I have been afraid to go to the doctor’s. I’m the type of person who would rather wait it out than step foot in a doctor’s office. I recently had a horrible sore throat that I knew would require a doctor’s visit. My friend told me she goes to South Coast Family, and highly recommended I try it. From the minute I stepped in the door, every staff member in that office made my visit so pleasant. Everyone was so kind and polite, not to mention extremely helpful. I was seen by Dr. Kent, and let me just say, I will never see another doctor again. He was so friendly, and really took the time to explain everything to me, and to answer all of my questions. South Coast Family was an all around enjoyable experience, (which I never thought I would say about a doctor’s office). I highly recommend this place to everyone! more

Recently I cut my thumb while slicing bread, I wasn't sure but I thought I might need a few stitches. When I called the E.R. the wait was over 3 hours, they advised me to call an urgent care. I called South Coast Family and was told I could walk right in. I am so glad I did! the staff was so kind, and Dr. Kent was great! He explained that I needed 3-4 sutures and before I knew it, my thumb was repaired and a very kind assistant was bandaging my thumb. I was so pleased with my care, I returned for my follow-up visits, my cut healed nicely. I highly recommend Dr. Kent! more

My 5 year old daughter was running a very high fever. I called her pediatricians office and they could not get her in that day. My neighbor told me about South Coast Family. I called and was told that I didn't need an appointment and I could just walk in. What a great experience!! The Staff was warm and friendly and my daughter Loved Dr. Kent! He was wonderful with her. I am so glad my neighbor referred me to Dr. Kent. He will now be our Family Doctor. more

I was seen by Dr. Michael Kent for a broken finger. He was very professional, kind and caring. I was able to have the x-rays taken in the office and had the results right away. He splinted my finger (which was fractured). Dr. Kent spent time explaining everything to me and how much time it would take for the fracture to heal. I usually don't write reviews but i was so empressed with the level of care i received and how professional Dr. Kent and the staff were. Pros: Experienced, kind, friendly Doctor and Staff more

I was treated at this office for a thumb injury. I received X-rays & the tech was very nice. I saw the doctor & was told my thumb had many interesting prior injuries but that everything was currently okay. I was given a brace for my thumb which cost over $180 & told to ice my injury. I thought the injury was more severe & it didn't heal or improve over the next few weeks. I sought a second opinion at which time I was informed that not only was my thumb dislocated but I had a compression fracture & severe bone bruise. I am now having long term complications due to the delay in treatment. I am contacting an attorney to pursue this further. DO NOT SEE DR COAKLEY! Pros: Office staff Cons: Dr Coakley more

I have been a patient of Dr. Kent for over 20 years. He is always very nice, easy to talk to and he listens to my health issues. He is a caring doctor as well as a professional that solved all my health issues. I know all his staff from office manager to the front office and they are very caring and make sure that I am taking care of by the time I leave. They have always been kind to even call my medication or even help me to get appoinment to other doctors if Dr. Kent wanted me to see them. Dealing with insurance as everyone knows is not an easy task but I have NEVER had any issues with going to Dr. Kent medical practice. Additionaly not only ALL my family go to Dr. kent but most of my friends or neigbors go to his practice and I not heard anything negative about Dr. Kent. Went to the clinic to have 7 stitches removed from my bottom lip after a dog bite incident. I was nervous about getting my stitches out because i wasn't sure how much it would hurt. Dr. Coakley did not have a very good bedside manner and did not do well at all making me feel comfortable. When he went to take the 1st stitch out he grabbed some skin from my lip with the tweezer. It hurt so badly that i accidentally let a curse word fly and said that I thought he had accidentally grabbed some skin too. He stopped (thankfully) and said that he didn't think that he could proceed because of my reaction and he was thinking about asking me to leave the clinic. I apologized for cursing and asked him if that was the reason that he didn't want to proceed. He said ""yes"". I said ""Really? Oh my God"" to which he replied ""Oh my God??? Now i really don't want to treat you anymore. I am going to disengage and determine how i want to proceed"". He left and 5 minutes later a physician's assistant came in and took out all 7 stitches quickly and painlessly. When i thanked her and said that it had hurt a lot less than when Dr. Coakley had tried to do it, she said that he had been using dull instruments and that she had opened up new ones to use on me and was going to throw the ones that he tried to use on me away.\r \r Obviously, I wouldn't have cursed if he hadn't hurt me trying to use DULL INSTRUMENTS!! And what kind of doctor just walks out on a patient like that?! Not that i would have wanted him proceed anyway... I give this clinic 1 star because Ms. Wong did a really good job taking my stitches out after Dr. Coakley had freaked out and left me there. Pros: Ms. Wong who removed my stitches and the office staff was kind Cons: Dr. Coakley who had a very bad bedside manner, tried to use dull instruments, and who is apparently easily offended. more

As walk-in clinics go, I was thoroughly happy with my first visit with Dr. Sims. She listened to my problems and treated my symptoms unlike the previous doctor I had been to the day before.\r \r The desk staff was a little rude, the wait time was an hour or so - again not bad for a walk-in, but Dr. Sims well made up for all of that. Will definitely visit again. Pros: Doctors Cons: Office Staff may come across as rude, wait time. more
