Problems with Security Deposit Refund 9/26/2011

Overall I enjoyed the period spent there (except for the noise) I am not reccomending the place because at the end of the lease contract I was only refunded $97.5 of my $700 security deposit. My unit definitely needed to be cleaned but there weren't significant damages compared to how it was when I first moved in. more

Ownership will rape you 9/26/2011

Never rent from any place that is owned by Pike Properties. I just transferred out of a studio apartment and into a 1-bedroom and they tried to take out $709 from my $700 deposit. I was living in that studio for 2 years and here are some of the insane charges they wanted me to pay: 1. $390 to replace the carpet so I demanded the invoice and it only cost them $300 to do it. They actually had to balls to try and make money out of replacing the carpet. 2. $220 to repaint the entire place. And there wasn't much wrong with it...just your usual scuff marks from bed/couch and such. 3. $30 deodorize apartment. After fresh paint and new carpet...what is left to deodorize? 4. $22 late fee. I have never been late on anything. They just wanted to tack on another $22 and hope i didn't notice. All of this was after I had to deal with neighbors that argued and beat their girlfriends all the time, a leak in my roof that took them 3 weeks to finally patch up, and fleas because the neighbor below me dumped her cat's litter box out her window. So I'm going to say this again...NEVER RENT FROM PIKE PROPERTIES more

the new managers rock! 9/7/2009

i have recently moved out of the building not too long ago because my fiancee and i are looking for a house together, i think it's about time. i definitely enjoyed my stay there. 3 young managers have recently taken the property by the reins, doing repairs and building relationships with the tenants. they are doing an amazing job, and they are definitely organized. when you put a work request in, they are knocking on your door within minutes! the building is very quiet, almost too quiet. there are children around that play but they aren't at all that noisy surprisingly. the building is very secure, they have cameras all over the place. while I lived there, i had a dog that unfortunately to say, tore my apartment to pieces. i expected to be reemed in my deposit but i actually got some money back from the management company within a short period of time, i definitely would recommend living at the kensington to anyone. tell the managers randal says hi and to keep up the good work! Pros: new managers are great, property is upkept, safe area, Cons: building still has a little rennovating to do, more

Great apartment building! (Speaking from experience) 9/7/2009

I lived at Kensington Apartments for a little over a year and my experience at the building was awesome... the managers that ran it prior to the newer ones (Andrew and Jessica) may have ""dropped the ball"" a little bit, and at first everyone didn't think Andrew and Jessica would work since they are so young, but they ALWAYS took care of any problems I had in my apartment very quickly. I've moved out now and bought a house but my security deposit was returned to me within 21 days per california civil code 1950.5 and I was not charged for anything that I would consider to be unreasonable like i've heard others mention. Pros: Nice neighbors, great managers GOOD Experience! Cons: No views :( more

  • In Short
After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.
