The bad experience starts in the parking lot. There are not clearly marked spaces, I tried to leave people enough room so that they don't have to dent my car, some idiot decides to do it anyway. The servers/cashiers didn't greet me at all. Their ideas of potatos for their breakfast tacos are french fries. I'm not kidding. They advertise 4 non meat toppings for a certain price, but they don't mention that cheese is extra. I don't think this place is worth it at all. I go to Ken's regularly and eat for $3.12 including drink... And am FULL!!! They food is great, the portions are large and the place is clean... The only problem is parking and the fact the only take cash. I always get the hunger for my Chorizo and Potato taco with cheese on a day I have no cash, and using the ATM at 7-11 costs more than my food... That is not fair (tried several words here that it wouldn't let me use)... but, when the mood strikes you gotta go! Pros: great food, large portion, cheap Cons: parking, cash only more

This place is just fantastic. Feels and tastes like a mom and pop place. Very clean eating area and bathrooms. The mexican food is very good here. The breakfast tacos are big and very very tasty! The burgers are great as are the fries. The sandwiches are made from BOARSHEAD meats and cheeses, very good stuff. It's a premium sandwich at a bargain price. Be sure to ask about the daily lunch specials as they change from day to day. I just wish they were open evenings so I could grab something on the way home at 5:30 pm. They close around 3:30 pm weekdays if I remember correctly. If possible try to phone in your order ahead of time, it makes getting in and out much faster. If they don't pickup the phone during business hours you can safely assume they are packed at the moment. They don't pay someone to cover the phone full time, but the quality and quantity of food for the dollar MORE than makes up for it! The parking lot can be tricky to get in and out of and parking spaces are somewhat limited. I try to phone in orders, park at 7-11 and sneak into Ken's and then back to my car. Bring cash or check, or use the ATM at the 7-11 next door because they do NOT take credit cards. I love this place so much I may have to buy a bigger pair of pants and a bigger belt! I ONLY wish I had time to stop every morning and pick up a taco! They're the cities BEST, MOST DELICIOUS, HUGE tacos, normally they have super fast service, just try to beat the morning rush. It's been around for years and only now have a few people ventured further beyond their cubicles to find Kens. They have awesome Lunch specials and awesome breakfast tacos. Truely the real ATX hookup for best B-fast tacos in town. I tend to get the Enchilada plate which is filling to a point with leftovers for a mid afternoon snack. Sure they may not take creditcards but keep in mind that is what keeps the price down because most places add in service charges to the price of food, Kens DOESN'T! Had a Turkey club yesterday with Jalapeno chips , totally filled me up and the spot. I'd disagree with the bad service, Kens is a down to earth place where YOU GO UP and order, they wont wait on you because they are too busy making AWESOME food! There customer service has got to improve! It's ruining it for them! I myself still eat here, but my co-workers has lost thier appetite when is comes to eating here due to the bad service, and whats with the not accepting Credit Cards? Cash Only! Get real people, hardly anyone carries cash on them any more, why hell there are snack machines that don't even take cash anymore! If you've never eaten a breakfast taco here, you don't know how great one can really be. They are just simply the best in Austin - quality ingredients and plenty of them. This is true for everything else here too - the subs, the burgers, and the wonderful homemade salsa. But my ultimate favorite here is the carne guisada... tender, full of flavor, and so delicious that I will occasionally drive all the way up there from the other side of town just to get some. Kens is the best place in Austin for a breakfast Taco. For $1.94 you can get a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast taco that is so huge, you wont need lunch. His salsa is awesome. The parking is terrible in the morning, but if you get between the rushes, it isnt so bad. Park next door at the gas station and walk over, they have you in and out fast enough the gas station doesnt even notice. I love Kens tacos so much I want to write a poem about them. Call ahead if you have a large order, but it isnt necessary. He doesnt take credit, which makes me glad because I dont carry tons of cash on me, and I would eat there everyday. I love their breakfast tacos, they really are simply the best. Nothing flashy, just good food. The tacos are HUGE and so cheap. I pick up breakfast there at least twice a week. The people are friendly and your food is ready before you have the chance to see what's on the tv in the corner. Ken's is my favorite place for breakfast tacos in town. The taco's are HUGE and very cheap. One taco is plenty, and Im a big eater... Taco and drink under $3. Two tacos if I'm going to skip lunch. Also, they have very good salsa. Lunch is also good, very large servings. I've never had a bad meal here. Parking can be a challenge, especially Friday morning.
