Best

I came to KAC over 10 yrs ago, and loved it for its non-legalistic people & preaching. It is full Bible with no fluff, but very loving. I am unaware of anything even remotely like...

Worst

Good place if you fit in without questioning the pastor's ""one true"" interpretation of the Bible, not so great otherwise.

Nasty and Hateful 2/13/2014

Reading about Kenmore Alliance I see that it has an all-white, all male elder board. It does not have any African-Americans on it, as the grieving father mentioned (with all due respects to the usher, that is not the same position as elder). Not one person from KAC offered condolences to the man who lost his child. Mr. Reiter, I wish you Christ's blessings in your tragedy. It is an awful thing to lose a child. No parent wishes that. I see that the church members here greeted you with suspicion and vague charges of wrongdoing, more like gossip than charges actually. And I saw that you were mocked publicly on your ""Compliments"" section by anti-gay members of Kenmore Alliance Church. How ironic and sad. And the church's associate pastor reached out to someone else who had a bad experience, but ignored you. This is not how Christ taught us to act. There are churches which welcome everyone. Try the United Church of Christ or the Unity Church. I wish you well in your journey. God bless you. more

Hmm....I am a welcome attender and usher of the church for 7 yr, and yes, I am African American. Also one of the pastors is non-white. Jerry, since your facts are not validated I doubt the credibility of your review with all due respect more

Pure evil served here. Kenmore All-Lyin""s hate group bars veteran parents like me from attending our own children's funeral if we are gay. It is for the Westboro Baptist crowd. They have not one single African-American on staff or the elder board. If all white is alright for you, you will love this place. Only white, suburban Republicans who want a place where there is no diversity fit in here. more

Love... Love... Love coming here! I have been at the Church for about a year and 8 or 9 months now. The people are very nice, there is something to get involved in for every age group/gender, I hear great messages every week that do not deviate from the Word of God and I really wish I had found this Church about 20 years ago when my Son was little so he could have been raised here. @Jerome, you have commented under different names 3 times now... I like Lilly feel like there is more to the story as well. (ps... before you comment on that, I have several gay friends and one really good friend that is gay that I went to Nyack {a Christian College} College with who is born again) and you comparing our church to Westboro is crazy if you know anything about Westboro. more

GREAT CHURCH if you love the JESUS and the Bible. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/21/2013

Jerome, Jesus loved the lepers that no one accepted. What would Jesus do? Now you have your answer. You will know them by their fruits is another Scripture. If you were not a disturbance at the funeral you should have been able to attend your child's funeral. God is Love and no one has the right to ostracize anyone else. Due to your gay lifestyle, even if the Pastor does not accept it,---he is called to LOVE with Christ's LOVE. The Church also bans the mentally ill. This Church pastor does not love with Christ's Love for the mentally ill or for the gays. He does reach out to the alcoholics and the addicts though and those who are ex convicts. His wife is an RN so she is educated and they should love unconditionally and not discriminate. They adopted 4 African American children and you would think that they do not discriminate. They wanted me to do something that would have slandered my own name and would not accept my apology for a misunderstanding that they misunderstood and labeled me on. They judged me hard because of their slanted viewpoints and wanted me to write a letter to slander my name so they could pass it to other churches they affiliate with and ruin my credibility. I suspect they are doing this because I shared my mental illness diagnosis with them. They wanted me to state in the letter that I lied and I did not. I typed a letter of reference that my friend asked me to type for them because they do not type. My friend told me the words to type. He quizzed my friend of the reference letter and my friend was a foreigner and did not understand the Pastor, so the pastor accused me of lying because I typed the reference letter that my friend verbalized the words for. The Pastor accused me of committing fraud. People called secretaries type their bosses letters all the time and they are not committing fraud. I even apologized to bring peace but Pastor Jon refused to accept apology and wanted me to write a letter that I lied and he would share it with other churches to warn them of me. Totally wrong! Jesus would not have slandered someone for typing a letter like any secretary does throughout the day and the bosses sign them. My friend signed the letter and the Pastor is calling this fraud. He did not want me in his church due to my mental illness. They do discriminate on that and also gay people. Sorry this happened to you. Jesus Love meets us where we are at. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Sorry to say that I spoke to an attorney who states the Church is allowed to discriminate and can choose to ban someone since it is private property. Pastors have to answer to JESUS CHRIST who is the final Judge. If they do not make amends and apologize, they will have to answer to the Final Judge on Judgement Day. I would have a meeting with the pastor and explain to him in a patient tone of voice how you feel and why you are gay and then let it go. Make sure you bring a witness with you when you do this or a tape recorder. You know how things are twisted. more

More Extreme than Westboro 3/2/2011

Westboro Baptists protest outside funerals of soldeirs and gays, but Kenmore Alliance Church went further. They barred this former officer from attending my own child's funeral because I'm gay. . more

KAC is the best! 7/1/2010

This church brought me back to Christ and His unconditional love. Every week I learn new aspects of Christ's Love, and how to apply it to my life & to others'. The church teaches us how to be Christians outside of the church--giving us the tools and information to help us do so. I notice a change in myself when I miss a week. I need it like I need water. I love KAC! Pros: Tons of groups, childcare, activities, awesome sermons, etc. Cons: Needs more room for all the people that love the church! more

Excellent Church 8/27/2009

At this church, you can remain as anonymous as you want or be involved as you want. No one is going to single you out for anything. You'll feel okay whether you've never been in a church before or if you've been a christian for years. The worship is awesome & meaningful. No 10 hours of announcements. Great friendly nursery and childcare, meaningful classes, free food, kids' clothes for sale for 25 cents, free Bibles, the Pastors are available if you need help. They serve the community, take care of poor people. They welcome people from other countries, races, and lifestyles - rich, poor, addicts, whatever. \r I read another guy's review that said that they don't love gay people. I thought that was weird because my gay friend comes with me every week and he has no problems. I feel really bad for that other guy, but I think there's probably more to the story. Pros: all about Jesus, no pretentiousness, everyone is welcome Cons: It's a church. more
