Great steak...no wait. 3/8/2008

This was once the Keg and is now called Cooper Mountain. Pros: Price, speed of service, seat availability. Cons: Table was a bit wobbly. more

Used to be so great... 1/14/2007

The Keg was soooo nice back in the late 90's! We used to go there often- the service was perfect, the atmosphere was great, the food was to die for, and it was well worth the money. There used to be a 1/2 hour wait to get a table it was so good. It wasn't trashy At All.. no ugly people, definitely not a 'truck stop'. Soooo sad to hear that it took a nose dive in the 2000's :o( I guess it's a good thing that it closed down. Drove by 'Cooper Mtn' today on the way into town... YUCK, a trashy yellow flashing sign telling you the specials and prices.... VERY TACKY. Will definitely never go there. There are enough of those kinds of 'restaurants' in this area. We need more major franchises. more

Best Pork Chop in town! 10/17/2006

Although I was disappointed about the Keg closing, I've been in a few times to Cooper Mountain and from the beginning to now this place is doing nothing but improving. I had the pork chop and once again Beaverton is blessed with fine dining. Finally no more trips to downtown to enjoy a classy atmosphere, good food and wine to sip. Pros: Classy, Awesome Happy Hour, No smoking Cons: No smoking, new business jitters more

The Keg is Closed - Oregon wasn't classy enough for Canadians! 10/4/2006

The Keg is closed. I emailed them (in Canada) and was told that this location did not live up to the image they wished to maintain for their chain. I guess we Oregonians are just too tasteless! more

More 'truck stop' than steak house 4/7/2006

I am so sick of going to this place and leaving smelling like an ashtray! They have a great happy hour on Thursday but that bar is starting to resemble a truck stop instead of a steak house bar. The smoke haze is thicker than that of a college dorm room and the clientel look like they just left their 18 wheeler parked out in the lot. Don't even bother to use the bathrooms while you're here. They are clean but old and gross looking - can you say Chevron? My advice to the Keg...either clean that place up or add biscuits and gravy to the menu and bring in a juke box and make it official. Pros: Happy hour menu Cons: smokie, cave like, dark more

I flip back and forth with this place. 8/17/2005

I have been here a few times and each time there are great things about it and not so great things about it. It's really dark in the resturaunt. Maybe it's suppose to be romantic that way, but not so much with a toddler at the next table, or a loud group next to you. The table's are packed in tightly so you have to talk over the table next to you. I felt strange just listening to their conversation, because I couldn't really have one of my own. The steaks have been excellent everytime. Last time I had a steak with a cream sauce with scallops and asparagus. The scallops and asparagus were over done, dry and not good at all. I have to admit the rest of the food made up for it though. Pros: great steak, good service Cons: loud, dark, cramped more

Carnivore's Delight 6/26/2004

I'm not a big meat-eater, although my hubby is, but even I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed feasting at this carnivores' haven. Generous cuts of thick, juicy, great quality meat, bursting with flavor. The sides were good and our finicky child really enjoyed her ribs from the children's menu, but the steaks take center stage. Unlike another reviewer's experience, our salad wasn't drenched in dressing. To be on the safe side, just request dressing on the side (for a side salad, it was very generous in size). Friendly staff and good service as well. It's not exactly inexpensive, but when you have a great dining experience, it's worth paying for. Recommendation: New York Steak (the prime rib can be a bit bland and chewy). Pros: Good Steaks, Plenty of Parking, Friendly Staff more

WOW 1/30/2003

This place is great. The give you a good amount of food, for a relativly reasonable price. And the food is extremly well. It is one of the best steaks i have ever had. And the appetizers are wonderful as well. If you go there make sure you try there crab, parmassean, and spinich dip. It is wonderful. more

A Favorite 11/16/2002

You're not gonna get the kind of steak you would at a place like Ruth's Chris, but you'll get a great steak at a pretty decent price. On the other hand, I told the waitress we knew what we wanted, and she still read the specials to me. It was a waste of her time and ours. Do they make them read the specials or something? more

The Best Steak Around! 9/18/2002

To tell you the truth I never even liked steak before I ate here. But I love it now! Tender, juicy, flavourful, and grilled to perfection. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for any kind of a dinner date wether it be with family, friends, or even romantic. The best steak in town for sure!!! And the crab, parmesan, spinach dip is to die for. You must try it!!! Pros: good parking, great service, awesome steak Cons: not one in town, don't open till 4 more

Just ok 7/24/2002

Can't imagine saying this place is the best. Service is alright, typical Oregon - slow, mistakes but friendly. And the food is a little heavy on the fat content- so don't plan on getting a salad- it swims with dressing. The food is just ok. The co-workers & I have been here a couple times and have yet to be impressed. More of of convenience of locaation. It would be embarassing to bring a date here or celebrate an anniversary. more

MMMMMMM!!! goooood. 7/18/2002

My favorite little indulgence is to come here w/ a good book, get cozy in a booth and order a steak- med. rare. Also a great place for family dinner, business thang or dates. Very comfortable atmosphere and great comfort food. outstanding service. A bit pricey but well worth it. Pros: good parking, service, food!!! more
