So, not the first time on this lot. Always tempting cars, tempting prices. If you look at them they always have some problem.
Wife wanted to look at a 2003 CRV that was on their lot, I didn't want to make the trip, told her it would be junk, but the car was tempting, decent miles and $. Get up there and there were 2 CRVs next to each other.
Look at car 1, the one I made the trip up there to look at, already had pulled a carfax off their website and all was clean (no accidents, etc). But how was there overspray on that front bumper, and the paint while the same color, had a different texture on the front of the car. None of the clips that hold the front plastic in place was there and therefore the front was all loose. Opened up the rear hatch, pulled up the carpeting and there was water under it. Closed the hatch and saw the hatch was re-painted, right in the center behind the tire, still sandpaper scratches in the bondo. Before going up there I had looked up the VIN and seen that it came from a local Honda dealer (told my wife there was a reason a Honda dealer didn't want a CRV on their lot). Now I know why. Scratch car 1, lets now move to this other CRV
Car 2, Hit in the rear drivers quarter, bondod up and repainted. Shoddy workmanship again, this one is starting to rust from the metal back out, feel bad for the poor sap that spends the 7500 they want for this and has to take it to a body shop in a year because the whole rear quarter is now coming apart because of rust and has to drop $2500 to have it fixed correctly.
How do these cars end up with clean carfax reports and have tons of poorly done body work? When these people had these cars and wrecked them, they went to the cheapest place they could find and payed cash to keep it off their insurance, thus didn't get reported. Now KDK looks for any car they can put on their lot and claim has a ""clean carfax"" regardless of what has obviously happened to the car, then sells them at retail. Look at every panel, make sure the Vin #'s on all panels came off the same car, look at the paint from an angle and make sure all panels reflect the same. Look for dust in the paint or scratches under the paint, especially on the rear quarters and the front fenders, hood and bumper. If you are considering a car from these people take it to a mechanic and a body shop before purchase. I know what to look for and of the 3 or 4 wasted trips to this lot, 3 or 4 (whatever it was) were all damaged but surprisingly clean carfaxes. When I asked the salesman, he put on his dumb face and acted like he was surprised that it had work done on it.
