I love what KCM does for the community, but I do not like how they run their business at times. Most employees are very unfriendly...except the ones in the boutique which I have noticed are very friendly and helpful. They seem to be so unhappy and depressed. I was in KCM today. I visit the store on Mason at least 4 times a week.
Today, I noticed an employee wheel out a container of items to be placed in the collectiable, kitchen household area. A gentleman that I see in KCM almost everytime I am there went over to look and shop out of the container before items were placed on the shelf and was having a nice conversation with the employee as he was doing it. He then left and a lady came over and was doing the same when the employee rudely says....lady do not shop out of the container, wait until I get them on the shelf. I felt sorry for her and I asked the employee if this was a new rule, because I had just saw her allow the other gentleman to do exactly what she was doing. She said yes it is a new rule. The products in the store are there to sell. If they sell before they are on the shelf...great. If you allow one person to shop out of the container, everyone should be allowed.
I do spend a good amount of money at KCM and have found some good deals. Lately, prices have gotten very high at KCM. They have not ran any sales in weeks, which they use to run at least 2 times a week. I see items, especially furniture sit in the store for weeks because they are priced extremely high. I also shop the Goodwill on Mason. The employees there are friendly, store is clean, and they welcome you to shop out of any container that is brought out.
KCM...I want to keep supporting your great charity...but you do need to make some changes with employees attitudes, clean the store up, bring back the discounts, and lower some of your prices.
