Kates Skating Center

My experience at Kate's Skating Rink, Rock Hill, was one i will never forget. I will never be able to forget the stench of those unbearable bathrooms. I will also never forget the horrible concessions and the nasty sticky and unsanitary carpets that are very dated and need to be re-modeled. The skates hurt your feet and smell extremely foul. And for some icing on the cake, the staff is extremely rude and could care less about their business and their customers. All in all, I am very surprised this skating rink is still in business. We always have a great time when we go to Kate's Skating Rink. It is a great place to get out of the sun and the heat for a few hours. The rink plays great kid music! My 5 & 6 year old love the games that they play. Initially I was a little turned off that the rink is older and and not updated, but after I relaxed a bit and saw the kids having a ball I was able to over look it. It's good, clean, kid fun! The kids get a great work out. And I can sit close enough to the rink to keep an eye on them, and read a magazine/book. I would highly recommend. more

This place is horrible to go too and is horrible to leave little ones -Staff are rude and dont care about the customers -The bathrooms are filthy -About everything you can think of is overpriced and the skating games they play are to get you to buy their cheap merchandise -The skates are not good quality and will blister your feet[ also I wouldnt think of buying the rollerblade pads, they are cheap and thin -My good friend bought a pair of their rollerblades and after a week they began to make his feet swole, so he went to take them back but they refused to take them back -The pizza is cheap and anything else they serve is bad quality Overall this place isnt worth going too, and the outside entrance is a reflection of that. more

I really enjoy coming out to Kate's Skating Rink in Rock Hill..The building is older and could use some remodeling but I really enjoy the quaint atmosphere that this rink still has..The management over the last few years has been much better than in the past..I do wish the parking lot was bigger though..The staff is always on top of things and the snack bar food is well pretty average for a roller rink snack bar..I think you can tell that the people who manage this rink care alot about the place and it has always proven to be a very safe and friendly place to attend..I understand that future renovations will be taking place soon and I just love the light up wall that is painted out of neon paint..I feel that this place is run more like a family skating rink so I prefer it to some of the more modern Kates in the area..I am a life long customer. I also believe that this rink is the only one that has the round rotunda wood floor. Pros: Super Music, good management, good crowd control, Cons: bathrooms need to be remolded, rink could be updated some more

I like this place.The manegment is good.They play good music and games.I just don't like the restrooms.But every thing else is great.Sometimes they burn the pizza more

Just took youth group to Kate's Skate in Rock Hill. The concessions are extremely unreasonable and the food was horrible. A pizza was $10 (and they were the cheap ones you get at Wal Mart) and they were burnt to the point they could not be eaten. Was not offered a refund or another pizza only told that was they way their oven cooked?!? Bathrooms should not even be allowed to be used! Disgusting!!!! This skating rink is absolutely disgusting and not worth even considering visiting. Parking is terrible and management is a joke. Take the extra time and drive to Charlotte to skate. It will be worth the extra drive. Pros: Average price Cons: Parking, cleanliness, service, concessions, management more
