I can’t say enough about Kate Bentley Events!! Kate met my mother and I a little less than a year before my wedding date on a scouting trip to Key West and showed us around town where we decided on the Southernmost Resort for our venue. Kate even brought me chicken noodle soup when I got sick during the planning trip!!\r \r Over the course of the year of planning Kate offered great suggestions on restaurants and vendors and hooked us up with Nick Doll for photography, Southernmost Glam for hair and makeup, DJ Buggy for DJ services, George Victory for pre ceremony and ceremony steel drums and guitar music, Mama Flowers for floral, Old Town Bakery for brunch while getting ready in the room and wedding cake, and Florida Keys Party Rental for tent and linen rental. She also helped us find Rooftop Café for a bridal luncheon as well as setting up Conch Republic to cater our rehearsal dinner catamaran cruise on the Sebago Cubed. \r \r Kate was a wealth of information as I planned the entire wedding from Washington DC with just the one preplanning trip. I’m a super planner myself and I know I drove Kate crazy at times but she kept me calm and assured me that everything would work out and it did. Even when a few hiccups occurred (first choice for bridal luncheon booked another party and after party claimed to not know we were coming) she found me another great option or made sure it all got corrected quickly. Kate also picked up all of the food and drinks for a guys’ fishing trip and delivered it to the boat captain so my husband and my dad wouldn’t have to mess with it the morning of their fishing trip. \r \r Kate assembled all of our welcome bags and it was wonderful having a physical address to send things to prior to the wedding. Her mom was her helper on the day of and she was so sweet!! Kate was 8 months pregnant the day of our event (1/26/13) but was on her feet setting everything up and running over to check on my progress. The space looked great and months after our event people were still raving about it being one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to and how wonderful everything was. When I think of my wedding day, I just want to do it over again because it was so amazing!! Marrying the man of my dreams was key, obviously, but Kate Bentley (our wedding planner) made the details of the day flow perfectly. I still can't believe how incredibly calm and happy I felt the whole wedding weekend. \r \r We are not local to Key West and we were both so busy with work, so we decided to hire a full service wedding planner to help with the whole process. Kate was the second planner we met with and I knew she was the one right away. I described the feel of my ideal wedding venue, and she took us right to the Hemingway House which was PERFECT for my vision. She also connected us with all of our wedding vendors, and we couldn't have been happier with all of them (Nick Doll Photography, Catered Affairs, Mama's Flowers, Bagatelle for the rehearsal dinner, etc.) She helped me with the details of the whole day AND the rehearsal dinner/welcome reception the night before. Everyone loved both nights - I got a lot of ""best wedding weekend ever!"" comments, and we definitely couldn't have done it without Kate. \r \r Kate is creative and very flexible, and I loved that she didn't drive me crazy with strict time schedules during the planning process. She is a pro and was confident that everything would be handled, and I trusted that it would. Everything was on point. She handled the coordination of the bridal party and photos, not to mention the decorating of the ceremony, cocktail and reception areas, and I seriously felt no stress the whole weekend, really. I had the best time! What more could you ask for? \r \r I would definitely recommend Kate Bentley Events if you're getting married in Key West. She is a local and professional and will make your day so special you'll wish you could do it every weekend! more

I was searching blindly for a wedding planner online and stumbled upon Kate's website. I found the website struck the perfect balance between refreshingly whimsical and professional. It spoke to my wedding priorities...hiring someone who was creative and organized. Kate Bentley events delivered on all our expectations, taking our epic vision and making it a reality. During the planning, she was very organized, and provided excellent insight on things I hadn't considered such as food for the bridal suite and special considerations for parents of the bridal party. She captured the look and feel I wanted, and worked well with all the vendors that I brought to the table. She surprised me on the day of the wedding by providing parasols for the guests and also did some special uplighting as a complimentary gift to me. Even though she was 8 months pregnant, she worked diligently throughout the weekend and all my guests commented on her hard work and professionalism. During the wedding, unbeknownst to me, our hotel room flooded, so on top of everything, she worked with the staff to have us upgraded to an even better room and have all our belongings moved without ever giving us a moment of worry. Throughout the wedding and reception, she had an uncanny ability to always be one step ahead of the game, while always ready to hand me a glass of champagne when mine was getting low. As a bride, I wanted this day to be one where my bridal party could revel in the day with me, not be working for me. Hiring her was the best decision I could make, because she truly took on every burden and allowed us to have an epic wedding. more

If you don't want to turn into a bridezilla just a few days before your wedding day, then you should hire Kate immediately!! She is very professional, organized and pays attention to every little detail to make your wedding day special. I haven't worried about ANYTHING since the day when we hired Kate. Kate coordinated our wedding day on April 28th, 2012, in Islamorada. The wedding was perfect! It was beautiful and everything went so smoothly!! Kate was wonderful to work with. I can't believe it only took Kate a dozen of emails and a few phone calls with us to put everything together!
