Katana Salon & Spa

I've been going to Katana since 2009 for my hair cut and color and have never been disappointed. After years of ""shopping around"" in Boston going to the high priced salons where I was charged over $500 for my cut and color, I finally found a home! Tommy is the best - he's honest and does not push you to do something you are not comfortable with, which I experienced in the Boston salons I used to frequent. Every time I walk out of there I receive compliments and leave feeling great. more

I've been going to Katana since ithe grand openning. I see one of the owenrs, Kathy. This woman has some amazing talent as a colorist and stylist. I have incredibly difficult hair to work with and everytime I leave the salon I feel like a million bucks. Over the past year I've gone from pretty long hair to a short and sashy cut and I completely love it. I totally trusted Kathy when she recommended I go in this direcdtion. The staff is fun, professional and friendly. The customer service is through the roof. I like the consultative approach taken in both the salon and spa. The owners are really interested in understanding your issues and work with you to try to solve them. They offer free samples of most products so you can try before you buy which is a huge bonus. I'd highly recommend this salon and spa to anyone looking for a lift or new look. It's worth the trip and I'm happy to stay away from the inflated prices and long waits in Boston! I've been getting my haircut from Kathy (owner) for nearly 20 years and I each time I leave her chair I inevitably get a compliment from a complete stranger. I've lived in NY, Boston and now RI and have continued to follow Kathy from here early days in Arlington, Boston and now Winchester. Because of my work schedule, I'll admit to having visited other stylists - and there is not one that I would consider leaving Kathy for - she is an excellent hairdresser , who also has the entrepreneurial skills to manage and run a profitable business. I challenge anyone who is thinking about a new hairstylist to go to Kathy....you will immediatly see and hear the results from friends and strangers. I know, recently my friend from RI has joined Kathy's client list and has never had so many compliments on her hair!!! (She also travels from RI to Winchester). If you actually do decide to go to this salon, DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT! see the owner Kathy. All the other staff in the salon & spa are wonderful sweet girls. Any of them would be better suited than Kathy. She is a condescending, self-absorbed, mean spirited, over priced unprofessional B*TCH!!! She thinks she is above everyone around her and berates those she deems ""beneath her"" which to her is apparently everyone! Save your money and your dignity. My experience was wonderful. The service is incredible. If you are interested in a facial they have one that inlcudes a sholder, head and neck massage. The products are fabulous and I left feeling and looking younger. Their staff is experienced, friendly and attentative. I will go no where else to have my brows waxed either. The colorist is superb! I love this salon! Everyone that works here is extremely friendly, great service and very reasonable pricing for the services given. I have only had the pleasure of getting services on the spa side and Charity gives the most amazing facial, great at eyebrow shaping too. The atmosphere is great, always easy to park. I would recommend to anyone. more

This is such a sweet salon. Locate right outside the center of Winchester, knowledgable & pleasant women that work there, and they carry GREAT hair & skin products. Their priced reasonably, and I always get the best hair cut & style there. Also, their space is beautiful with shiny hardwood floors and high ceilings. I'm so glad that I found this Salon!!
