Kar Tek Auto Repair & Smog

I have been using Kar Tek for the past year noq for numerous vehicles. They are always clear and honest with what our cars need based on their driveability and the cost v. age of the vehicles.\r \r Recently I was at Sherman Oaks Galleria driving my husband's old Silverado when the clutch suddenly went out. I was stranded. I called Rick, one of the owners, who helped calm me down and handled everything very smoothly. He had the truck towed back to their shop in North Hollywood. He fit me in to their busy schedule and was able to replace the clutch master cylinder within a day. When the truck was ready, he had his partner Mike come to my house and drive me back to their shop because none of my friends or husand could get out of work to help me. \r \r I was awe-struck--completely and totally impressed with their service, their diligence in providing care to me and my vehicle, and their dedication to their work.\r \r I will continue to use them for all our vehicles, and recommend them to everyone! more

i found kar tek through citysearch and picked them to repair my vw gti. in the past 6 months i've been back to them twice and i can't say enough nice things about them. kar tek delivers speedy, courteous service by honest mechanics, which is hard to come by in the auto repair industry. they are also efficient and make every effort to get your car back to you as soon as possible. even though they are the experts, they listened to me describe the odd noises my car was making the first time, and weird shaking the front end was doing the second time, and will factor this information into their diagnosis of the problem. my car is 5 years old and these guys have kept it running great! if I ever move out of noho, i will make a special trip to have my car serviced by kar tek. more

The guys at KarTek saved me money!! When my brakes died, I went to a Ford dealership and was told I would have to replace all my brake lines. The cost was too much for me to afford so I had to get another estimate. When I went to KarTek, they found a way to do it for almost 30% less the cost on labor while still using all original parts! They got the brake job done just as professionaly if it was done at the dealership. Plus, they did a free visual inspection to make sure I didn;t have any other problems (which I did not). KarTek's has great prices and they're honest, so they will be my auto repair shop from now. more

Every auto mechanic I've spoke to has been either very rude, vulgar, impatient, filthy, smells bad or all of the above. Not the guys at Kar Tek!!!!!!! Rick and Mike were extremely pleasant the first time I brought my car in for service. They greeted me with a smile, were very calm, and listened to me. They respected me and won my trust that my car was safe with them. I've taken my car to Kar Tek three times for various repairs, and they've been been great every time. They've always called me right away after inspecting my car to give me my options, and been able to finish the job within a day. I'm especially thankful to Kar Tek on my last visit. My lights didn't come on and it was dark outside. I was scared and knew I couldn't drive from North Hollywood to Encino with no lights. Because I was only a few miles from Kar Tek I called Rick and asked if they could help. He was just closing his shop but agreed to stay open for me if I could make it. He didn't complain when I showed up, discovered the problem right away and fixed it. Thanks to Kar Tek I was able to drive home safe with my lights on. My loyalty is to Kar Tek and no one else. more

My experince with Kar Tek was great! My old Mustang failed its smog test inspection so rather than have to take it to another place to get it fixed Kar Tek was able to do the necessary emissions repair at their shop in North Hollywood. I had to leave my car overnight, but when I pickd it up the next day they told me they rotated my tires and topped off all my fluids for free! I was not thrilled to learn my muffler had a hole and needed to be replaced, but hey my car passed its smog check and I'm happy agin. more
