Kaleidoscope Hair Salon

Is there such a thing as a mindful and compassionate haircut? If so, I got one yesterday from Kim. She was awesome. My hair looks REALLY bad if I get a bad cut, and it takes a long time to grow out. I was a bit nervous to try a new place. But Kim was kind, a great listener, and she understood what I needed and wanted. I felt like a partner in a creative enterprise, not just another customer. She took her time with me. I'm really glad I went, and I'll be going back for other cuts and some color. Kim (she's the owner) also explained the name of the salon to me - it's about having all kinds of customers from all kinds of backgrounds. I'm happy to be one of them! more

It is difficult for me to find a salon because I am very particular. I moved to louisville about 4 years ago and found Kaleidoscope about 3 years ago. Before I moved I used a top notch professional. She was amazing. Had a style of her own and the price showed. At Kaleidoscope I get relatively the same talent but much cheaper. I have used different stylists there and have liked them all. They really listen to what you want. And even double check by explaining it to you. If you ask they will even offer there professional opinion. There have been been times where I see people who do not know what would look good for their face or are very vague about what they are looking for and the end result is always impressive. All I have ever seen in there is smiling faces. They even do hair extensions and dreads if your into that. They like talking with the customers and with each other. They seem like they are all pretty close. I can conclude that this means they have been there for quite some time. And they are very accommodating when is comes to scheduling an appointment. The ONLY CON I would give is the limit on hair color swatches they have. But the stylist I have is really good about mixing color to get something you would want. I have been having my hair done at KHS for over 7 years and it is by far the best salon I have ever been to. I have gone to other salons a couple of times but keep coming back to Kaleidoscope. The stylist are very sweet and I love the more alternative atmosphere. I wouldn't recomend any other salon. more
