Kalamazoo Public Library 7/12/2009

It is not by accident that this library was named National Library of the Year 2002. It is very, very good, and I think Kalamazoo is lucky to have a resource like this downtown. One can argue that its outside facade is a bit radical, though now that the Radisson Center, slightly more than one block to the north, has remodeled its facade, the hotel makes the library look pretty conservative by comparison. The resources in the library are vast. My fave is the A/V Dept. And I will rave in particular about an employee there named Karl. more

One of the better libraries around 9/1/2006

The Kalamazoo Public Library is one of the nicest libraries around. They are equipped with computers for internet access and document processing, a good selection of large print books, a separate children't section, as well as a large A/V lending section. They also offer free classes on resume writing and other self help topics.\r \r Membership is free for residents of Kalamazoo. Be sure to check out the Friends of the Library Bookstore downstairs, and keep an eye out for their fashionable goose; she dresses up for the holidays! more

wonderful 9/9/2005

This library is fantastic. Not only is there a huge selection of books for adults, there is a very large children's section with books, toys, etc to keep the kids entertained. I also think it's nice to be able to get internet access for those that can't afford it at home or those that don't have a computer at all. The computer system makes it easy to locate books and I love that you can reserve books online before you even go. more
