Kailua Beach Park is one of our favorite spots on the Windward side. On busy days, parking is often limited and you may resort to parking in the grass on the side of the road -- so get here early! The beach has nice, fine white sand and the waves aren't too big -- great for small children to wade in the water. Lifeguards are on duty. There are restroom areas with showers and ample grassy area for picnics, cookouts, and get-togethers. I believe you can rent kayaks nearby as I always see groups going out on kayaks. After the beach, head on down to Buzz's Steakhouse for a bite to eat. It's located right across the street from the park.
