The worst sushi experience ever 2/10/2012

I eat sushi twice a week. This is the worst experience ever. I go to Midori where you can find nice sushi.food came with bland taste and crispy deep fried sushi came cold. miso soup was very bland. it is so unfortunate people they go there and make line to get table some times. It is not special at all.manager came to table and had a bland face not even appologizing for bad food they served us or not even offering menu so we pick something else. more

Great place for a casual dinner 6/2/2009

If you're looking for a casual place where the food is good and they won't rush you out of there (like other smaller sushi places), check out Kabuki. I've been going for years and have never been disappointed. The Firecracker appetizer is especially yummy if you like spicy tuna and don't want even more rice. more

Fresh fish is served and look for the specials on the menu.\r If u like spicy food try their Spicy Tuna Special, Service was good and we were seated within 5 minutes.\r Valet is cheap and street parking is available, if you are looking for a good sushi place I recommend this place . more

Kabuki Japanese Restaurant 11/4/2007

When I first walked in the restaurant smelled fishy. When I relayed this to someone who knew about Sushi, I was told that meant the fish wasn't fresh. Well, anyways, I asked for a seat in the back of the restaurant so I wouldn't have to smell the fish. I ordered a salad that had chicken in it. The food was mediocre. I would not run back to the restaurant. If someone really wanted to go there, I would go with them. By the way, when I walk in Musashi's in Northridge, the Sushi bar doesn't smell fishy. more

Pros: fast service Cons: valet parking more

Don't Go for the Sushi 10/27/2006

My wife and I had a craving for sushi on a Sunday night when our regular place (Brother's Sushi) was closed. We went to Kabuki because it was close by, even though we hadn't been very impressed when we'd gone there a year earlier. The place always looks crowded when we drive by, so maybe we just had a bad night, right? No, the sushi was still bad. We've never tried anything else at Kabuki, but you'll have to trust me that Brothers is a hundred times better for sushi. Pros: Ummm...close to home? Cons: Sushi -- small pieces of fish and not fresh. more

overall 3/5/2006

Good service, nice food, joyful place, it looks like very busy on weekend... Anyways nice place for the families more

great sushi! 2/7/2006

I've been going to Kabuki quite a long time and when I visited there recently I was very surprised. I saw many new faces and service got better! Of course the food has been great! But the service was great as well. They were very nice and helpful. The ginger shirimp appetizer the server recommended was increrible. And price is always good. Also they just added few new items which all I wanted to try. Some of the sushi restaurant who is more expensive can't compare with kabuki's good quility. I definitely recommend this to my friends and family. Pros: Quality food, Inexpensive, Family restaurant Cons: Valet parking more

Sushi in the Valley should be a good experience 1/1/2006

This Valley resturant is ok for being in the Valley. The food has flavor but the prices need to come down. This place woudln't be that bad if the hostess wasn't so rude(Young Asian Women.) The servicers are very nice and the sushi chefs are all very friendly and fun. Overall what do you expect it's the Valley! Pros: Flavor, Variety Cons: HOSTESS!!, Valvet, prices more

love the food and people!!! 8/20/2005

I love the food at Kabuki! The price is reasonible and quility is the best!!! (i'm a sushi lover)-I've been to so many sushi bars and Japanese restaurants. Whether i sit at the bar or at the table, the service is always awesome. (my fav sushiman is Kevin!) Also the fish is so fresh. You should try the ""lotus roll"" and ""spicy tuna salad."" Not only the presentation of the food, but also the taste is always great. I highly recommend the reservation for weekend visitors, especially for the big party. more

Love it! 2/10/2005

You are always greated with warmth at Kabuki. I love their 50% sushi. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but the large size plus the great quality of the sushi combined with the small size of the bill more than makes up for it. They seat until 10:30. so it's perfecct for a late week night meal. Try the tempua roll, yummy! Pros: Sushi, Price Cons: Slow service more

Kabuki Rocks 2/8/2005

This is a great place to get good sushi at a reasonable price. The service can be lacking at times but if you aren't in a hurry, the sushi is worth the wait and the price. more

Good Sushi, GREAT prices 1/22/2005

Kabuki has been drawing crowds for over a decade and it's easy to see why. The sushi gets better everyday. It's not the best out there, but is a steal for the price. If you've been away, the restaurant was remodeled a couple of years ago and a premium menu's been added. Great fun spot to grab some tasty fish. Can get crowded though and the servers barely notice you're there. Expect to wait over 30 minutes for a table on busy nights. Pros: Tasty Food, Good priced more

Average Sushi 12/5/2004

Very average (which means not bad, but not great either). Atmosphere was very assembly line. Each chef was filling at least two or three orders while they were fill ours. There was no chef dedicated to the sushi bar. Sushi rolls were tiny like those from a supermarket. Uni was not very fresh. Mackrel and YellowTail sashimi were pretty good even though I have had fresher. The place's saving grace is the (cold) sake selection. More places are serving Mu (my favorite) but it is still rare. In addition, they also server Asahi dark which is also rare. Required valet parking (which I hate). It definitely pales in comparison to Agoura Sushi. Pros: Sake selection Cons: , Impersonal atmosphere, Req. Valet Parking more

Sushi-Sushi & More Sushi 11/14/2004

Great selections of sushi and combos. Not a lot of selection for a spicier roll, but I am sure the chef's will put something together for you at the bar. As the evening wore on, our server got bombarded and we waited a long while for our entrees and check. But this is a very nice restaurant and has great sushi You will wait if you get there late! Pros: Selection, Valet Parking, Fresh more
