KZXX-103.9

103.9 was my favorite radio station for a long time, then they went off the deep end with annoying djs, constant commercials, and the same music. Recently, however, they seem to have mended their ways to a certain extent. They are quite proud of being able to play what they want, and rightfully so: surprising songs are played with some frequency, and they do generally avoid the trap of only playing the same things. However, it is hard to listen to the station when they still have annoying djs, and they insist on boasting about their non-corporate ownership every commercial break. Plus, the ommercials remain as terrible as ever. 103.9 is good for the occasional song, but I can hardly say you'd want to stick around for what happens in between. more

I used to have a love/hate relationship with x103.9 but recently they have reformatted their programming and it has gotten better. Even they made notice of the changes in a recent ad campaign. They play a lot of local bands, but also play a lot of alternative mainstream music. They have some fun contests, and I enjoy listening to their happy hour show on the way home from work. more

Since a good rock station is harder to find nowadays, I was glad when I found this station. They don't have to play a quota of songs, so it's a refresher that they dont play the same songs over and over again, playing them out. Furthermore, their contests are fun and they offer really nice prizes. However, in my area, the reception isn't always good and is always mixing in with a Spanish radio station, which is really the only drawback. Other than that, the talk is hilarious and the music selection is great! more

This is my preferred radio station for listening in the car. The station is locally owned and very responsive to listeners. They play an eclectic selection of music and host a lot of parties at clubs in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Rancho Cucamonga (and occasionally Victorville). I really like their anti-corporate philosophy and their occasional dj-less shuffle weekends. more
