Very happy with original work and all follow up questions and maintenance. K&N understands that people love their boats. They treat the customers like they expect to be treated.. I took my Mercruiser 3.0 in with a starter bolt that sheered off into the block. I was quoted for the job a number that I thought was very reasonable from the beginning. I knew it would be labor intensive as the outdrive had to be pulled and the engine lifted slightly. \r \r I get a call from Jeff and he said my boat was ready and by the way it would be $350 LESS than he originally quoted!!! I was floored that he was so honest. This speaks volumes to the honesty, integrity and ethics that this outfit is built on!\r \r I will never take my boat anywhere else. This is an awesome outfit. The answering machine is fine and I imagine it keeps overhead down. I will tell everyone I know about K&N. I called and left a message but they got back to me w/in 24 hours. It was the middle of duck season and I needed my boat fixed fast. The problem was that I was in Utah on vacation. No problem: they said they would go to my house and fix it there if they could but if not they would take it to their shop, fix it and bring it back for no charge (no charge for the house call). They brought it back the day I returned from vacation and not only was the problem fixed, they did several other things (greased the trailer, checked the lights, etc) for no charge. Granted, I spent over $1,000 but I know that was a fair price and the service is unrivaled. Moreover, they came back a month later to check the fluids and make sure everything was ok. Again, no charge. \r Conclusion: excellent service and workmanship at a fair price. If you are looking for a superior boat mechanic, these guys are it. At first I called and had to leave a message that kind of got me worried... i figured ok thats tipical there just like all the rest...... Boy I was wrong they called me back, got out to my chapparal which was dead at the dock... they fixed my problem informed me what it was and also informed me of other problems i never knew i had, they recomended services and told me when they should be preformed. All in all there pricing is around the same as some other service places.. cheaper than most ... there service is fast, as convienient as a boat repair can be, freindly and trust worthy... K & N, by far, provides the best marine service on Lake Norman with prompt return calls, very little 'wait time', lower prices on services than anyone else on the lake (the added bonus- they will come to you... no more having to spend a whole day getting the boat to a location for service orrepairs then trek all the way back home).
