Recently purchased a Papitzu, pet left the establishment ill with kennel cough / upper respiratory infection (as per their vet's diagnosis). Having spent over 1k, we expected a healthy pet. Not acceptable. These folks seemingly CYA - with their "pet contract" they have it all figured out. Question: what about the health and well being of the animals. Who, is looking out for their best interests? Sad, very. more

If it were possible to give this place NEGATIVE stars I would. Just like the other reviewer my puppy had kennel cough as well as ear mites. His kennel cough was not your average kennel cough. He stopped eating and drinking two days after we had him. When I called Just puppies they said it was stressed related and was concerned "normal." However the vet, one of thiers by the way, said the severity of his kennel cough was not normal and matter of fact is was a VERY bad case. Just puppies claims they have vets check the puppies every week but that is not true. If a puppy is deemed "sellable" the second week it's there and doesn't sell for another four weeks that puppy isn't checked again. They are out to make a quick buck and could care less about the health of these vulunerable babies. I'm so happy we RESCUED our little man. I can't imagine him having to suffer at that filthy shop one day longer. Steer CLEAR of this pet shop!!!! more

Bought our little Josie last year and she had a congenital Liver shunt. Paid 4500 dollars to fix her as it was a death sentence. Just puppies does NOT buy from reputable breeders, please think twice. Just Puppies claim that they do not get their puppies from puppy mills but they do - USDA Breeders are puppy mills and the largest number of them are in Missouri which is where Just Puppies claims to get their puppies. I would not purchase a puppy from ANY pet store that claims they get them from a USDA Breeder. Although these pets need good homes, when you purchase them, it opens up another cage for another puppy who is being born to a female that is kept in a cage, producing puppies until she can no longer. I have been to Just Puppies a few times, but never with the intention of buying a dog; I go just to play with them. This place is actually a very nice facility, as far as pet stores go. The main room where the dogs are is a big, bright room with little cubicle-like areas in the middle meant for alone time with the dog of your choosing. There are all sorts of breeds of dogs in what appear to be clean, somewhat spacious cages, and never more than two dogs in a cage. The staff is extremely friendly and genuinely seem to care about the dogs, which is not something that I can say about other pet stores that I have been to. You are allowed to play with as many of the dogs as you please in the cubicles for as long as you feel comfortable--and you are always within sight of the staff in case anything should happen. The cubicles themselves are a little dirty because the puppies do, um, get excited when they get to come out of their cages to play, and they are likely to have accidents. There are paper towels and disenfectant to clean up. the front of the store has just about anything you ever would need for your dog, from food to toys to cleaning products. Puppies run from about $500 to $2000 depending on the breed. more

I recently got my puppy from here. The people at the store were very nice and helpful as I selected my puppy. They make it easy. There were about 100 puppies of all breeds to choose from. You can go to any cage you want and hold the puppies to see if you bond with them. more
