It's a good planet, too 6/19/2006

Plenty of microbrews and other tasty forms of alcohol (Newcastle Brown Ale on draft springs to mind) but what I like at this pub is the snacks. They have great pizza and a divine artichoke and cheese dip that I could very happily eat all night. Hang out upstairs, downstairs, or outdoors, but expect to be ID'd with a quickness if you come after about 6 or 7. more

Does after work beer drinking and pizza get any better than Jupiter? Heck, I don't even like beer and I think their pizza is only just passable for bar pizza, but STILL, I don't mind sitting here with the coworkers and watch them get their post employ buzz on. Especially if it's a nice evening and we're sitting outside in the back. more

Go for the beer...maybe some pizza 1/13/2006

Unfortunately I chose the wrong place to be health conscious because the Mediterranean caesar was not good at all. My boyfriend did however, really enjoy his sausage pizza. The bruchetta appetizer was just ok. The crowd that hangs out at Jupiter is a little older most likely because of the beer selection. If you're looking to go drinking with some friends by an outdoor fire and maybe grab a pizza I see this being a nice plus. It's right across the street from the bart too. more

great spot -- but ladies, hang on to your purses! 1/5/2006

Jupiter is bar none my favorite spot to gather a group in Berkeley -- the beer selection is phenomenal, the pizza is very tasty, there's often live music, and both the indoor and outdoor areas are spacious and comfortable. But a word of caution is warranted, as my friend's wallet was stolen the last time we were there. The staff was very kind and helpful, but it's still important to be careful. more

this is a "VERY ENJOYABLE!!!" indoor/outdoor restaurant that serves, great wood-burned pizza, as well as tasty salads. they carry MANY types of beer!!! my favorite is the honey wheat beer with a slice of lemon. it's a beautiful place!!! most important are the people that work there, like the waiter/waitress, and of course the bartender too. they're so friendly & down to earth. it has a nice ambiance, especially at night. seating is mixed. there's fire burning in the middle of the patio. there's heaters for those cool nights. and a stage, upfront... for the live jazz music. it's free!!! where can they go wrong??? it's a great place for groups to meet at, and share laughs the whole time, while being there... i always do!!! with all it's good food and BEER!!! and please DON'T MIND the rats, if you happen to see 'em running by. there's a parking lot/alley/dumpster right behind the stage area. i don't!!! u gotta' just have fun with it, and continue laughing... more
