Best

I have been going to JMD for about 12 years or so , and I have to say I love that place , it is so much fun , they have a plethora (sp?) of cr@p to look at , the prices on clothes...

Worst

I am alternative, these people are RUDE! God forbid you need any help finding something in the window. The fashion buyer there hates anyone that wants to spend money in the store....

Fantastic Fun Always :P 9/20/2008

I have been going to JMD for about 12 years or so , and I have to say I love that place , it is so much fun , they have a plethora (sp?) of cr@p to look at , the prices on clothes are a little high and do seem to be made for people on meth , think size 0 ,lol but they have lots of fun knick knacks , magnets , bath stuff, books , stickers , and almost any other useless yet nifty thing you might want to pick up ""just because"" , I love the giant shoe staircase that leads up the the shoe area though I don't go up there very often cause I am a casual shoe kind of gal, When ever I go I almost always keep in mind presents for stocking stuffers from all the wacky things they have like the mini chicken or ninja launcher guns , lol...Now about the staff , .... I love them too, yea they are stand offish and yeah they don't chat you up with a perma-grin , but then again you ain't shopping at walmart or target are you ? You're in weird freaky store full of weird freaky people that deal with mostly tourists/posers all day ,So as long as you remember that and just want to go to have a fun time looking at and probably buying some wacky/strange/funky fricking stuff and not go in expecting anyone to want to be your best friend ... you should do alright :) oh and the shoplifting thing is all how you take it , go in , give them your stuff , get your keychain , and go shop , it really isn't a big deal unless you make it one , ( probably planning on stealing if your that offended) there are alot of theives around and they are doing what it takes to keep theft down in their store :) Pros: fun , huge stock, good parking on weekdays, interesting staff, surrounded by other cool stores like Crystal Blue , good price on special effects hairdye Cons: prices and clothing sizes, pay to park on weekends, not alot of space between racks, not gonna be your buddy but not really con since you came to shop right? more

Lots of interesting stuff, but RUDE 9/9/2008

I've gone to Junkman's Daughter a few times since I was in middle school. It's always fun to go to since there's nothing quite like it where I live, so I try to visit when I'm in town. I know for a fact things are overpriced. One of the employees even admitted on a message board that they jack up the prices. It's still nice to browse, maybe find something despite the prices instead of just going by a picture on the Internet. It's a little Hot Topic (I know that description will annoy some, but whatev), a little head shop, a little Spencer's, etc in one big store. Pros: large variety, interesting stuff Cons: very rude staff more

After the first time, not so exciting. 8/17/2008

While they carry interesting items, you can find them cheaper if you scour the internet. I've also seen many of their ""cool japanese items"" at TJMaxx for a sixth of the price. They carry band tees (very expensive), Emily the Strange, platform shoes, novelty items (such as pooing pig keychains), weird books, and much, much more. It's fun to go look around, but try Psycho Sisters for cool, vintage and retro secondhand clothing. It's the next block down and has way more to offer than this place. Little Five Points is pretty much where all the cracked out hippies from the sixties and seventies live in Atlanta and beg for money outside. At Junkman's, they won't let you bring a bag from another store inside of their store so they hold onto it for you at the front. It gets kind of irritating because they automatically assume that you're a criminal. They also make you pay for parking behind the store, which is a rip, because there's a hidden parking lot behind the building that's free. All in all, Junkman's Daughter would be fun to go to maybe once in life, but other than being exposed to interesting and new things one time, the store inventory rarely changes and it loses its thrill after the first time you've been there. Best thing to do is go, take a cell photo when nobody's looking of a thing you want (photography is strictly forbidden in the store) and go home and google it and buy it a lot cheaper. Pros: Interesting stock Cons: Rude staff, too expensive, and all-around annyoing. more

Way overpriced, and poor customer service 9/12/2007

While they do have some unique items, they are definately lacking on the smoking accessories and are way overpriced on just about everything. To top it off, they treat customers rudely (and like shoplifters) and act like they could care less about their business. There are other stores in the area that sell similar items, and if you're looking for nice glass and smoking accessories, go to Smoke 911 in Sandy Springs. They have the best selection of glass (RooR, locally blown pipes, vapes, etc) and definately the best prices in Atlanta. Pros: Big store, so pretty good selection of clothing/shoes Cons: Way overpriced, poor customer service, and weak selection of smoking accessories more

Hillarious staff, great shoes 8/30/2007

I can see where people might find the staff rude, but I've always found them hilarious. They're sarcastic to a T, and as long as they're not already helping someone else, they've been there if I need them to reach something high up or let me into a dressing room. The wig guy is freaking awesome, and although I had limited wig experience, he explained all that I needed to know about keeping my hair secure and taking care of the wig. The shoe people rock; plus: HOT boots can be as cheap as ten dollars! My only problem is the homeless people who hang out in the back by parking; they can be a little disarming. Pros: Cheap shoes, quality wigs, funny staff Cons: homeless in the parking lot, sometimes a weird geek-like smell more

Junkman's Daughter Customer Service 8/10/2007

I have shopped at Junkman's Daughter and their clothes are nice. Yet, they are very pricey for what they are asking. I also noticed that the staff there is not really customer friendly. If you intend to be in a customer service buisness it would be to your advantage to make sure that your staff makes folks feel a little more welcome. On one ooccasion I had friends from out of town visiting me and I took them to Little Five Points to shop, since they heard it was an interesting place to go. When we came into your store, and began to look around, and found some clothes they wanted to try on. When we tried to get a staff member to let us into the dressing room, we were rudely told that we would have to wait until they were done checking a price on an item , since there was no price tag on it, .The clerk kept us waiting for almost 15 minutes, and in that time they could have stopped for a minute to let us into a dressing room. Needless to say, my friends were not real happy with the way they were treated and decided not to buy anything, although they had found some items they really liked! Pros: Different type of clothing selections Cons: BAD customer service more

I would've spent my money here but.... 1/11/2007

I had come a long distance to shop at Junkman""s Daughter. I brought a lot of money and was going to spend it there. I asked for help and was snubbed. I asked to try on something to be let in the try on room and had my items SNATCHED outta my hands by a girl that said ""we'll hold these up here"" Guess She will be holding those forever LOL I didn't apprieciate being treated so snobby and like I was stealing. I am sure people do that (steal), being the big city, but I was there to buy. If I was treated nice I would've bought the 4 outfits, 2 more

Everyday's Halloween Here! Wild Staff-Funkmasters! 12/30/2006

Junkman's Daughter is just what helps make LF5, a unique shopping destination. Walking, is like taking a trip to the 60's, with the new milenium attitude. Whenever Halloween comes around, we always come here to shop. And when we have out of town visitors, this place is a must. Club wear, retro, or just the latest idol T-Shirt, you can find it here. We love the staff, and only wish we could dress this way for work. Attitude, yes, but it takes a lot of chutzpah-to pull it off. Be sure and check-out the shoe department upstairs. Pros: Ultimate Funky Fashions! Cons: Can Be Pricy At Times, For A One Time Outfit! more

Great name!! 10/19/2006

we came from Pittsburgh,Pa. and found it to be a really cool place to shop. love the name!!! we bought cute purses and trendy t-shirts and a super cute sushi monkey!!!! more

Rude service 9/22/2006

Little five offers a wide selection of vintage stores with friendlier service. I recently visited this store with two friends and was shocked by the way a sales clerk talked down to us. Simply for trying to go to a dressing room w/o his permission, never knew being in retail gave you a power trip. I dont appreciate some kid talking to me in the tone he took when I am an adult. Pros: interesting shoes, odds and ends, costumes Cons: over priced and the worst customer service more

Awesome, quirky, funky...I'm in love...but so expensive! 7/1/2006

I love this place! There are some things you just can't find anywhere else except on really obscure websites...no way am I ordering anything obscure online, odds are it wont even be shipped and they'll be mean to my credit card. My only problem with Junkman's Daughter is that the clothes can be VERY pricey. My advice is to check the sales first. I think the best part about the store though, is the back room...yes...check the back room. Oh, and anyone who says customer service is rude...that is so not true. Well, they're nice to me anyways. Maybe you guys just look/act like goobers or something. I've never had a problem with any of the staff, and I've had many many interesting conversations with the people who work there, especially in the back room. Pros: funky, original, parking (except on weekends) Cons: goobers shopping there stinking up my air (gag!), pricey clothes more

Quirky 1/25/2006

Filled with quirky, alternative, inappropriate fashions. Perfect for the goth, punk kid in us all. The staff is rude and is too involved in making sure their 17 facial piercings are aligned to care about customer service. Pros: unique clothing Cons: rude staff, prices, parking more

I love the junkman's daughter 6/27/2004

I think that the customer service is fine. Whenever I go every one is always very nice to me. Plus the shoes there are great! You can always find a sale and a variety on the shoes at The Junkman's Daughter. Pros: Good Parking, Not to Crowded more

Funky, yes, ATTITUDE, DEFINATELY 12/4/2002

I am alternative, these people are RUDE! God forbid you need any help finding something in the window. The fashion buyer there hates anyone that wants to spend money in the store. I love their clothes, and every thing else they carry, but being alternative doesn't give you permission to spit at people when they walk in your business! Pros: unique fashions, great novelty gifts, great parking Cons: staff, attitude more

junk and stuff 10/20/2002

I love this store! You never know what you will find here. But yes the staff is not real hands on. But that just seems to add to the place. If you just like to look then this is the place to go. Plenty to look at (staff included) and nobody bothers you. Need a funky gift? Gothic gift? Club clothes? Or even decor for a wild room? This is the place for you!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Variety, local to other shops Cons: clothes are pricey, local to me more

Terrible Customer Service 6/4/2002

They have cool merchandise, but the staff is VERY UNFRIENDLY especially the cashier. If customer service is important to you, then I would HIGHLY recommend NOT GOING to this store!! Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE more

Everybody loves kitsch 5/19/2002

You can't help loving this store. Crammed with some surprisingly tasteful clothes (and some not so tasteful ones), funky shoes and a large knickknack, home decor section, Junkman's Daughter always makes me smile and often convinces me to buy something different. The fun L5P characters who work here add to the mystique of the place. Pros: exhaustive variety Cons: long lines on wknds more
