I started going to Juan Tabo Animal clinic, mainly because it is very close to my house. I've never been to other clinics, they are the first and only I've ever taken my dogs to. I think the building is kind of crummy, the interior is muchly in need of a contemporary remodel-- as it hasn't been the 1970's in quite some time. But I guess that is just superficial stuff.\r

I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about, I've personally seen them take in pets that have been hit by cars in dire emergency, normally because when that happens, my appointment gets bumped back. But that's only been maybe twice that I can think of.\r

I think the care is good, I'm not a huge fan of Kennedy Sweeny when I get him, he's okay, but he seems kind of rough and terse. The two lady doctors (?) are really nice though. The one with glasses is my favorite, the other one, the blonde one tried to lecture me about my dog's diet one time, which was kind of annoying, apparently she thinks raw food diets are awful. k got it. but she is really good with both my dogs and I think really good at what she does.\r

By far the best part of Juan Tabo Animal clinic are all the little helper bees they have. They come in to help hold the dogs while they are getting blood drawn or give them a little treat before they get poked or proded. They all seem to really like pets and take great care and caution with my dogs so I know they are in good hands.\r

I think there are probably fancier nicer newer clinics out there in Albuquerque. But I haven't felt the need to try and find a different one. I like Juan Tabo well enough. The one thing I wasn't happy with is how expensive shots and things are there. Someone told me that I can go down to the little vet place near Menaul and Wyoming and get their shots from that place there for considerably cheaper. And I did, and it was only like $16 which was great for my wallet. The only thing with those guys, is they are first come first serve, walk-in only, so unless you get there early to get first in line, you are going to wait in a long line of pets for your turn. Still cheaper than $120 or whatever the bill at a clinic might be. I'll take that.
